(HBO) - The year 2020 was a year full of difficulties and challenges for the business community in Vietnam in general and Hoa Binh province in particular, as production and business are under the pressure of the global economic recession in and serious impact of the COVID-19 pandemic. However, through hard times, the business community once again affirmed its important role in boosting the province’s development. Of great note, the business community continues to well perform its social responsibility through activities to ensure social welfare.

 Truong Hai Auto joint Stock Company presents Tet gifts totaling 250 million VND to poor people.

 

In early 2020, the COVID-19 broke out and developed complicatedly, thus affecting directly all aspects of the human life. As a result, many people have been unemployed, or had their incomes affected. To join hands with the political system in the fight against the pandemic, the provincial Business Association presented 5,000 free face masks to residents in Hoa Binh city. Some of its chapters also offered free masks for local people.

 

In addition, in response to the Vietnam Fatherland Front Central Committee Presidium’s appeal for everyone to join hands in the fight against the COVID-19 pandemic and the provincial Fatherland Front Committee’s Standing Board’s call, the provincial Business Association donated 30 million VND. Many enterprises in the province also donated money and items in support for affected people.

Nguyen Ngoc Truyen, Vice Chairman of the association said that the association in general and enterprises in the province in particular always bear the social responsibility of doing social and charitable activities. Therefore, the provincial business community has participated with a high sense of responsibility in different campaigns to support the Fund for the Poor, the Tet for the Poor Fund, the Gratitude Fund, and a campaign in support for people affected by natural disasters.

 

The heart and practical deeds of the business community have been recognised and highly appreciated by the provincial Party Committee, authorities and people.

 

Last year, the association stepped up disseminations to encourage its members to actively take part in social welfare activities. The association proactively intensified communications on programmes launched by the province such as presenting gifts to poor people in the Tet holiday, supporting funds for the poor, study encouragement, dioxin/Agent Orange victims, people with disabilities and orphans.

 

Especially, on the occasion of the Vietnamese Entrepreneurs’ Day (October 13), the association encouraged businesses and entrepreneurs to donate nearly 1.6 billion VND for the Fund for the Poor. Billions of VND were also supported for people affected by floods and landslides in the central region.

 

Most recently, together with departments, sectors, offices, organisations and individuals inside and outside the province organized activities to care for poor people and policy beneficiaries on the Tet occasion. Right at a conference to carry out 2021 tasks, the provincial Business Association and its chapters and enterprises granted gifts to the poor. Many businesses donated large amounts of money such as Truong Hai Auto joint Stock Company (250 million VND), Hoang Son Trade, Construction and Energy Investment JSC and the Bank for Investment and Development of Vietnam (BIDV) – Hoa Binh branch (200 million VND each), the provincial Business Association, An Thinh Real Estate JSC and Phu My Group (100 million VND each). In addition, at the conference, businesses and entrepreneurs presented Tet gifts worth 1.29 trillion VND to poor people.

 

The practical and meaningful deeds have shown a high social responsibility, thus contributing to the locality’s development./.

The model of efficient energy lighting - Spreading the light of education

Since 2021, the Center for Industrial Promotion and Industrial Development Consulting (CIIDC) under the Department of Industry and Trade has been implementing a school lighting model as part of the plan for using energy efficiently and economically in Hoa Binh Province in the pẻiod of 2021 - 2025. This model not only aims to improve the learning conditions and enhance the education quality, but it also promotes the message of energy saving, energy security, environmental protection and contributes to the goals of socio-economic development.

Progress in ethnic minority education

In the 2024 - 2025 school year, the entire Hoa Binh provincial education sector includes 520 educational institutions and schools. Among them are 13 ethnic boarding schools with 153 classes and 4,487 students. Four of these schools have met national standards, reaching 30.7 percent.
