(HBO) After reaching the destination of the new rural in 2015, Dong Tam commune (Lac Thuy) has constantly been maintaining and improving the quality of the achieved criteria. With the objective of reaching the goal of a model of the new rural commune this year, the commune has been focusing on the sprint with the determination of the whole political system and the consensus of the local people.


Tan Tien hamlet, Dong Tam commune (Lac Thuy) is completing the infrastructure, creating a clean and beautiful landscape to be recognized as a model of a new rural residential area.

The commune has been developing a plan to build a model of the new countryside since 2019, focusing on the key solutions such as mobilizing all resources for the infrastructure construction, directing the implementation of the production developing projects, establishing and improving the activities of the cooperatives and the cooperative groups, building and replicating the models of effective production and business, encouraging and promoting the development of business lines and services, focusing on vocational training for the rural employees, thoroughly implementing the principle "People know, people discuss, people do, people check, people enjoy”...

Identifying that the people are the subject of the movement, the commune has been focusing on promoting the propaganda so that they clearly understand the purpose and the meaning of the program. At the same time, the commune has been leading and directing comprehensively, drastically, focusing and proposing a lot of policies and solutions to implement.

During the implementation process, the environmental criteria have been paid attention to. Dong Tam Cooperative is a waste collection and treatment unit, which has been collecting garbage regularly and treating it in accordance with the regulations. On average, 50 tons of domestic waste are collected every month, of which about 35 tons of waste are classified and applied the appropriate treatment measures. The Fatherland Front and the mass organizations have been well maintaining the implementation of the movements and campaigns participating in the environmental protection such as "All people unite to build new villages and civilized cities”; "Building a family of 5 no, 3 clean”, the model of "Self-governing route of the youth”, "The lighting section of road”, "Farmers protect the environment”…

In order to be recognized as a model of the rural village, the system of the infrastructure, the rural transport and the cultural institutions have constantly been improved and upgraded. Nearly 50 km of the village roads and alleys have been renovated meeting the standards with 2 billion VND from the State budget and 500 million VND contributed by the people. Flowers and trees have been planted on both sides of the road, making the landscape and the face of the countryside increasingly clean and civilized. The commune’s health clinics has been invested and installed with the modern equipment, ensuring the medical examination and treatment, improving the efficiency of primary health care for the local people.

Mr. Trinh Xuan Nghi, the Chairman of the Communal People's Committee, says: Thanks to closely following the directive documents of the superiors and the localities, and the consensus of the People, the journey to build a model of the new rural area in Dong Tam has been carried out synchronously and effectively. Up to now, in the commune, there has been 1 village reaching the residential area of the model of the new rural area. The average income per capita of the whole commune is 55 million VND a year. The restructuring of the agricultural and rural economy in the direction of the commodity production has been directed to accelerate the implementation, in which, the employment in industry, service and trade has been focused on. Along with that, the economic models with the main products of the commune produced according to the method of ensuring food safety have contributed to raising the people's income. Up to now, the income from the models of growing oranges and pomelos has reached 150 million VND/ha, and that from the models of growing custard apples has reached 250 million VND/ha.

From the achieved results, the authorities and the local people of the commune have agreed to carry out the tasks and the criteria according to the regulations to reach the destination of the model of the new rural area according to the set plan. Up to this point, Tan Tien village has beeb selected to continue improving the infrastructure, creating a clean, beautiful and civilized landscape to be recognized as a new residential area this year. Three cultural houses of 3 villages with a total cost of over 1.3 billion VND have been accelerated to complete so that the commune can reach the target of the model of the new rủal village on the schedule.
