(HBO) – Localities across Hoa Binh province have applied measures to step up COVID-19 vaccination, in a bid to expand the ratio of residents fully vaccinated against the pandemic.

According to a report of the provincial Centre for Disease Control, the province is speeding up the vaccination on adults in parallel with inoculating children from 12-17 years old. In two phases, the province has injected more than 71,000 doses for children.

The provincial Department of Health has directed health care stations in localities to mobilise resources for massive vaccination campaigns as scheduled.

As part of efforts to speed up the progress of COVID-19 vaccination, the department has urged heath care stations in the city and districts to strengthen communications among the community on the benefits of vaccination and vaccination schedule.

Doan Van Hai, Vice Director of the Hoa Binh city Health Centre said that the city is arranging vaccination appointments for people who have yet to receive any shot, while continuing to give the second shots to local residents.

Tran Quoc Manh, Director of the Medical Centre of Tan Lac district said that the district is focusing on administering the second shots. The district has conducted vaccination right after receiving vaccines, he added.

In order to ensure safety against COVID-19, after receiving the list of people to be vaccinated, the medical centres have arranged appointments for them to ensure they do not have to wait for long and ensure safe distance.

Safety measures have been applied throughout the vaccination procedures from receiving, screening, injecting, and post-vaccination health supervision. Emergency aid teams have stayed ready for any circumstances.

To date, the province has administered over 1 million doses of COVID-19 vaccines for 598,563 people, with 466,573 receiving the full two shots. The vaccination coverage among children aging from 12-17 has reached 96 percent. Meanwhile, 97 percent of local adults have been vaccinated.
