High School for The Gifted in the recent years.
Dr. Le Thi Hong: Hoang Van Thu High School
for The Gifted is a school with the acient tradition. It is also a high quality
center of the provincial Education and Training Sector with the tasks of
educating and training the best pupils comprehensively. The school’s mission is
a good job of the total education, on the basis of which, we favorably work to
foster the preeminent pupils. Specifying the right assignment, the Party
Committee, the Management Board, the Administration Staffs and the teachers of
the school always raise the sense of the responsibility, dedication, active
investigation, creation and diligence with the work.
The
School Management Board regularly talk, motivate and inquire the demand and
expectation of the pupils.
As a result of that, the
school has been eternally maintained 99% of the pupils with the good and
excellent performance; 100% of the good and classy conduct, no one with the
average conduct. The rate of the graduated pupils is 100% and the percentage of
the entrance to colleges and universities is 98-100% in the continuous years.
Especially, in the recent years, 100% of the national excellent pupils at the
high school in Hoa Binh province has come from Hoang Van Thu High School for
The Gifted. The school has also been over 200 classy pupils at the provincial
grade per year.
Every year, there are over
10 pupils getting the prizes in the National English Contest through the
Internet, nearly 20 excellent ones in the Regional Contest Math on the Casio
computer and so on. In the 2016 - 2017 academic year only, there are 12 ones
winning the gold medals in the National Math Olympic on the internet, 6 prizes
at the provincial class and 3 awards at the national level in the Science and
Technology Creation Contest. Especially, there have been more and more the
students getting the fully foreign scholarship. Concretely in 2017, the pupils
coming from it gained 23 seats in the total of 100 scholarships from

demand of the Education Sector, Hoang Van Thu High School for The Gifted has
been executed the fundamental and comprehensive renovation and increasingly
requested the human resources to buil Hoang Van Thu High School for The Gifted
to a high quality school, being a brand name in the North. What solution have
you and the School Management Board applied yet?
Dr. Le Thi Hong: The school’s achievements
over the past 70 years have affirmed its certain position in the specialized
schools in our country. We have determinatively and bravely been implementing
many effective solutions to improve 2 sides of the education. First of all, it
has been built 42 rooms for 42 classes and 13 cabinets of subject rooms,
equipment rooms, laboratories, multipurpose rooms, school headquarter area and
so on in a green, beautiful and green precinct for completing the material
facilities.
At the same time, we have
also been very interested in improving and enhancing the knowledge and skills
of the Administration Officers and teachers. There are 129 staffs and teachers
including 48 comrades with the MA degree and upward. The target in 2020 is 50%
of teachers obtaining the MA degree. At the present, 4-5 classy teachers with
the MA degree are directly in charge of teaching the excellent student teams.
In addition, the solutions
to improve the quality of education have synchronously been implemented. The
school will be the first ones in being implemented the general educational
curriculum in the near future. We have cared about the effective organization
of learning the worth life, living and social skills for the pupils. We have
also created the conditions for them to do the scientific research and creative
techniques. We have taught them how to apply the knowledge to solve the
problems in the real life. They can use the foreign languages in the learning
and communication to ensure the development perfectly. Finally, we have planned
to improve the teachers in the profession, foreign languages and informatics.
The main teacher teams of a specialized group have been established. It has
also intensified the school’s ability to cooperate with the national schools
and prestigiously educational agents in the native and overseas nation.
