(HBO) - National Road No.6 and Hoa Lac-Hoa Binh City Highway run through Mong Hoa Communue (Hoa Binh City), facilitating trade and transport. The commune is also home to an industrial zone (IZ) well planned on an area of 200 hectars with numerous businesses in operation. Meanwhile, the local labour force is resourceful with a majority of young workers available to the IZ, its enterprises and production facilities.

On top of that, the commune possesses huge tracts of
agricultural land. Production practices and mindsets of the local farmers are
transforming through innovations, in tune with new developments in market
trends, thus improving productivity and local incomes. According to Nguyen Xuan
Phuc, Chairman of Communal People’s Committee, the success lies in the updated
resolution promulgated each year with tailor-made socio-economic plans, which
focus on crop plants and domestic animals restructuring, developing farm
economy, applying scientific advances in production, developing industries,
small scale craft production and services.
Local party and administrative authorities exert leadership
guidelines in boosting growth towards diversification of livelihoods in
accordance with local competitive edges. The commune strives to maximize
credits and loans for production development, particular local resources for
expanding livelihoods. Standing out among successful stories was a honey
beekeeping project involving 20 households with annual harvest of 4.000 litres
worth about 600 million VND. In 2021
this model is forecasted to grow to 50 household with estimated ouput of 9.000
litres of honey worth more than 1 billion VND. Meanwhile, investments in small
scale craft production, services, transport, construction materials are
beginning to pay off with over 50 enterprises around Mong Hoa IZ, providing
employment for thousands of local workers with stable average incomes between 5
and 9 million VND per person a month.
In
2021, with local GDP per capita set to reach 52 million VND and poverty ratio
falling to 1,5% (27/1.801 households), Mong Hoa is fast toward qualifying for
the title of "Upgraded New Rural Commune”.

Da Bac is the most disadvantaged mountainous district in Hoa Binh province, with ethnic minorities accounting for about 90% of its population. Over the past years, the district has mobilised resources to implement ethnic policies to improve the quality of life of local people.
In recent years, Hoa Binh province has consistently prioritised the protection, care, and education of children, particularly those from ethnic minorities and disadvantaged backgrounds, by creating a safe, healthy, and nurturing environment for their all-round development.
The Steering Committee for Tobacco Harm Prevention and Control of Hoa Binh province, in coordination with the Tobacco Harm Prevention and Control Fund, held a ceremony on May 28 in response to the World No Tobacco Day (May 31) and the National No Tobacco Week (from May 25 to 31). The event was chaired by Nguyen Van Toan, Standing Vice Chairman of the provincial People’s Committee and head of the Steering Committee.
Since 2021, the Center for Industrial Promotion and Industrial Development Consulting (CIIDC) under the Department of Industry and Trade has been implementing a school lighting model as part of the plan for using energy efficiently and economically in Hoa Binh Province in the pẻiod of 2021 - 2025. This model not only aims to improve the learning conditions and enhance the education quality, but it also promotes the message of energy saving, energy security, environmental protection and contributes to the goals of socio-economic development.
In the 2024 - 2025 school year, the entire Hoa Binh provincial education sector includes 520 educational institutions and schools. Among them are 13 ethnic boarding schools with 153 classes and 4,487 students. Four of these schools have met national standards, reaching 30.7 percent.
