(HBO) - President of the Vietnam Red Cross Society (VRC) Central Committee Bui Thi Hoa visited and presented gifts to poor people in Hoa Binh province on January 20.


Leader of Vietnam Red Cross Society Central Committee hands over gifts to a poor household in Tan Hoa ward (Hoa Binh city). 

In Da Bac district, officials of the VRC Central Committee and other sectors granted 100 gifts, each comprising 1 million VND in cash and confectionery and necessities, for people living in disadvantageous circumstances and Agent Orange victims, with a total value of 120 million VND. 

The leader of the VRC Central Committee expressed her sympathy with poor households facing difficulties and encouraged them to make more efforts in production and economic development to increase their income and improve their life. The VRC Central Committee also presented 500 water filters to the provincial Red Cross to carry out humanitarian and social welfare activities. The delegation also visited and presented gifts to a poor household in Group 9, Tan Hoa ward (Hoa Binh city) whose members are suffering from a serious illness, and lose the ability to work. 

The gifts demonstrated the VRC Central Committee’s concern for the community, thus contributing to taking care of and helping those in need and helping them have faith to rise up in life./.

Meanwhile, 796,322 held health insurance cards, or 90% of the population.

Toan Son commune works to improve ethnic people’s lives

Toan Son commune in Da Bac district, with 70% of its population being ethnic minority people, has mobilised resources and created favourable conditions for local residents to access concessional loans to develop production. Thanks to the efforts, local livelihoods have seen positive changes.

Last year, the provincial health sector stepped up patriotic movements, encouraging its staff to improve their professional knowledge and skills, contributing to raising the quality of medical check-up and treatment.
