Da Bac district’s health centre organizes a reproductive health/family planning campaign in Dong Ruong commune.

The local authority has paid heed to raising public awareness of legal regulations on marriage and family.

The population and family planning policy has been strictly implemented, producing positive changes in awareness, understanding and responsibility of cadres, party members and people regarding the sex imbalance at birth, contributing to promoting socio-economic development in the district.

Quan Thi Bien, head of the population and family planning office of the district’s health centre, said the centre has coordinated with relevant sectors to organize communication campaigns on the population and family planning, focusing on the four groups of prestigious people in the community, service providers, couples of childbearing age, and adolescents and young adults.

The district has also concentrated on improving the provision of reproductive health and family planning services through organising communication campaigns to increase the number of people using contraceptives, aiming to realise the targets of reducing births, child marriage, and sex imbalance at birth.

It has also enhanced the inspection and supervision of the quality of reproductive health care and family planning services.

Elderly care models, inter-generational clubs in the community, pre-marital health consulting and checkups, adolescents' sexual and reproductive health, communication interventions to reduce child marriage and inbreeding marriage, and other models have been maintained to better the quality of population.

Activities to promote the role and position of girls in general, and in families that have only girls in particular, have been expanded with the aim of promoting gender equality.

Two pre-marital clubs to prevent and control congenital hemophilia are maintained in Hien Luong and Cao Son communes. /.
