(HBO) – Youths of Hoa Binh province have always upheld the volunteer spirit in movements for community in the locality, contributing to implementing many practical and meaningful projects.


Secretary of the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union (HCMCYU) Central Committee and President of the Vietnam Youth Federation (VYF) Nguyen Ngoc Luong and Vice Chairman of the provincial People’s Committee Nguyen Van Chuong present gifts to village elderly,villageheads, prestigious people, and representatives of policybeneficiary households in Da Bac district.

In early November 2022, the Vietnam Youth Federation’s Central Committee in collaboration with the Hoa Binh provincial Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union and the provincial Youth Union launched a winter volunteer programme in 2022, and a spring volunteer programme in 2023.

These were the most meaningful volunteer programmes ever in the province with a total value of over 2 billion VND (85,197 USD). They have covered many practical activities to support youth union members and local residents, contributing to spreading the volunteer movement among youth organisations in the locality.

In the programmes, 500 local residents were given health advices and free medicines, while 200 policybeneficiary households received gifts.

As many as 500 gift packages were presented to 400 students and 100 teachers in Da Bac district.

The programmes also handed over scholarships to 20 students with goodacademicperformance, and a funding worth 950 million VND for constructing schools and play grounds and toilets, and houses for ethnic orphans in the locality.

Nguyen Hai Minh, Vice President of the Vietnam Youth Federation stressed that the programmes were part of the activities to promoting the "Toi yeu to quoc toi” (I love my Motherland) movement.

Secretary of the Party Committee of Da Bac district Bui Van Luyen highlighted the significance of the programmes, saying that they offer opportunities for young people the affirm their role, responsibility and spirit for community, thus effectively implementing volunteer programmes and contributing to the locality’s development.

According to Vice Secretary of the provincial Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union and President of the Youth Union Nguyen Duy Tu, in the 2017 – 2022 period, youth unions and associations in the locality promoted the volunteer spirit of young people via a series of activities and movements which left good impressions in the community.

These activities focused on building new-style rural areas and civilised urban areas, protecting the environment, responding to climate change, ensuring traffic order and safety, ensuring social security, and COVID-19 prevention and control, he said.

The model of efficient energy lighting - Spreading the light of education

Since 2021, the Center for Industrial Promotion and Industrial Development Consulting (CIIDC) under the Department of Industry and Trade has been implementing a school lighting model as part of the plan for using energy efficiently and economically in Hoa Binh Province in the pẻiod of 2021 - 2025. This model not only aims to improve the learning conditions and enhance the education quality, but it also promotes the message of energy saving, energy security, environmental protection and contributes to the goals of socio-economic development.

Progress in ethnic minority education

In the 2024 - 2025 school year, the entire Hoa Binh provincial education sector includes 520 educational institutions and schools. Among them are 13 ethnic boarding schools with 153 classes and 4,487 students. Four of these schools have met national standards, reaching 30.7 percent.
