(HBO) - The results of the national competition for excellent high-school students in the 2022 – 2023 academic year have reflected efforts of the provincial education and training sector in preparations for the exam. In addition to the pride-worthy tradition of Hoang Van Thu High School for the Gifted, it is worth noting that in this national-scale exam, for the first time, a student from a district school – Kim Boi High School - won a prize in the English-language subject.

Representatives of the School Board and teachers of Hoang Van Thu High School for the Gifted meet, congratulate students on their high achievement in the national exam for excellent high-school students in the 2022 – 2023 academic year.

Receiving the exam results of Pham The Quang, a student of class 12A1 in Kim Boi High School), Pham Thi Thu Trang, Quang's head teacher and English-language teacher, was both excited and regretful. She said she was excited because her student made history when being one of 28 students from the province to win prizes at the exam. However, regretfully, with the score of 15, Quang only pocketed the consolation prize, while only one more point is needed to be able to "touch" the second prize.

At this year’s exam, Hoa Binh had 72 candidates competing in 12 subjects: Mathematics, Chemistry, Biology, Informatics, Physics, Literature, History, Geography, English Language, French Language, Russian Language, and Chinese Language. Local students got 28 prizes, five higher than the previous exam. Hoang Van Thu High School for the Gifted continues to promote the tradition, and affirm its outstanding advantage at this important exam when winning 26 prizes. Meanwhile, the Provincial Ethnic Boarding High School, and Kim Boi High School obtained one each. This continues to be a successful exam, showing the proud spearhead education quality of Hoang Van Thu High School for the Gifted.

Nguyen Van Chuong, Vice Chairman of the provincial People's Committee, attributed the good results in the national exams for excellent high-school students over the past years to contributions of teachers who detect, select and nurture excellent students.

Pride-worthy results in the 2022 - 2023 academic year will be the basis for the provincial education and training sector to maintain innovation and creativity, and have breakthrough solutions to improve the quality of education in general and the quality of spearhead subjects in particular, thus affirming the intellectual level of students in Hoa Binh province./.
