(HBO) - Over the past time, Hoa Binh province’s health sector has been paying much attention to improving the quality of services through improving infrastructure and equipment, providing advanced technical services in examination and treatment, building a civilised and friendly serving style, and applying information technology in medical treatment and examination management.

Nguyen Hoang Dieu, director of the provincial General Hospital, said that the hospital has applied many advanced techniques such as gastrointestinal endoscopy, respiratory endoscopy, hemodynamic exploration techniques, intervention for treatment of acute cerebral stroke, shoulder arthroscopic surgery, micro-spine - neurosurgery, and hip replacement surgery. Especially, at the end of 2022, it was recognised as the 38th unit out of the 135 Grade I hospitals in the country eligible to deploy electronic medical records.

From the beginning of this year, the hospital officially implemented electronic medical records to completely replace paper-based ones. It offered new services such as inviting experts on cardiovascular intervention, gastrointestinal endoscopy, anesthesia from Bach Mai, Viet Duc, and K Hospitalsto conduct surgeries at the hospital. The services help reduce overcrowding at upper-level hospitals, reduce costs for patients, and help local patients access high-quality medical services right at the provincial level.

Currently, the network of health facilities in the province includes two provincial hospitals, two branches, four health centres, one medical school, and 10 district medical centres. Medical units basically meet requirements on professional and professional activities according to their prescribed functions and tasks. All the 151 health stations in communes, wards, and townships ensure physical foundations, basic equipment, and human resources to perform initial care for the residents.

Bui Thu Hang, Director of the provincial Department of Health, said that in recent years, the province's health sector has effectively used the limited budget to improve infrastructure and equipment. Besides the provincial General Hospital, the district and city health centres are constantly improving their professional capacity, applying advanced techniques. Traditional and preventive medicine are also enjoying attention to develop. The province effectively implements national target programmes on health.

Regarding the prevention and control of the COVID-19 and other diseases, the province has developed a plan for a remote medical care system and online support system in the 2022 - 2025 period. The health sector consults the provincial People's Council to issue a resolution on support on health insurance payments for people from agricultural, forestry, and fishery households.

In particular, the health sector focuses on improving medical ethics and expertise to better serve the people. With harmonious solutions, the province has seen better healthcare that makes an important contribution to the local socio-economic development.

In the 2024 - 2025 school year, the entire Hoa Binh provincial education sector includes 520 educational institutions and schools. Among them are 13 ethnic boarding schools with 153 classes and 4,487 students. Four of these schools have met national standards, reaching 30.7 percent.
