Mr. Luu Huy Linh, the Deputy Director of the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism says: Depending on each year, the theme of Vietnam Family Day carries different messages. This year, Vietnam Family Day has the theme "A Happy Family - A Prosperous Country”. Following the direction of the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism and the Steering Committee for family affairs, the province has implemented and directed all the appropriate autghorities of the districts and the city to organize the activities responding to Vietnam Family Day in 2023 with many contents and form through the cultural and artistic activities, banners, slogans, thematic talks, and other activities. Over the past time, the state management of the family and domestic violence prevention and control in the province has been implemented quite synchronously. Up to now, 100% of the communes, the wards and the townships have built a committee and operating regulations. The districts and the city have planned to implement Directive No. 06, dated on June 24, 2021 of the Secretariat on strengthening the Party's leadership in the family building work in the new situation of 2021 – 2030 period; the family development strategy to 2030; the program on domestic violence prevention and control in the new situation up to 2025; the program of education on ethics and lifestyle in the family by 2030; the set of behavioral criteria in the family to 2025…Every year, the localities organize the activities on the occasion of the International Day of Happiness (March 20); the International Family Day (May 15); Vietnam Family Day (June 28); the National Action Month on Domestic Violence Prevention and Control; the World Day for the Elimination of Violence Against Women and Girls (November 25)… The communication activities have been carried out in a variety of forms, contributing to preserving and promoting the cultural values, the good traditions, customs and habits of the nation, eliminating the backward customs, implementing a civilized lifestyle and a cultural family. Thereby, the number and quality of the cultural families have been improved. In 2022, in the province there was 87.9% of the households achieved the title of the cultural family. These are the positive factors contributing to preserving and promoting the family cultural traditions, creating the favorable conditions for Vietnamese families to develop sustainably.

Currently, the whole province has established 170 models of domestic violence prevention and control; 1,404 family clubs for sustainable development; 1,365 groups of domestic violence prevention and control; 1,727 trusted addresses in the community; 158 hotlines. Propaganda and dissemination of the guidelines and policies on the family work and domestic violence prevention and control, the moral education and lifestyle have been agreed and supported by the people, which has created the favorable conditions for the staff doing the family work to capture the information about the families at the risk of violence, thereby, they can take the effective measures to prevent and handle them promptly. However, in 2022, in the whole province there were 75 households with the family violence, 75 cases of family violence, of which there were 59 cases of the mental violence, 12 cases of physical violence, and 4 cases of economic violence.

It can be seen that the family is the cell of society, the place to maintain the race and an important environment to form, nurture and educate the human personality. The family is also a place to store, preserve and promote the good traditional cultural values, fight the social evils and create the human resources to serve the cause of the national construction and defense. Vietnam Family Day is an opportunity to spread the awareness and honor the good values of the Vietnamese family, uphold the family's ethical standards, lifestyle and cultural traditions. This year Vietnam Family Day has delivered the key media messages, including: A happy family is the foundation of a happy nation; The investment in family work is the investment in sustainable development; the family: the starting point and destination of the policy; The family value system is the core of the national value system; The family - a place to nurture and transmit the good cultural values; Building Vietnamese people's character starts with the moral education and lifestyle in the family; Happiness will shine in a family without violence; Family is the source of strength, the most important stronghold of every human being. All acts of family violence should be denounced and dealt with strictly according to the law. Protecting children living safely at home is the responsibility of parents and family members… This also helps raise the awareness and responsibilities of all levels, sectors, families, and communities in controlling and preventing the family violence, implementing a civilized lifestyle and the behavioral culture in the family and social community.
