Identifying the care for and protection of the rights and interests of workers as the focal task, the Labour Federation of Yen Thuy district in Hoa Binh province has brought into play the role of trade unions, thereby winning trust from employees of agencies, units, and enterprises and helping promote emulation movements to contribute to local socio-economic development.

The organisation has more than 3,200 members at 74 grassroots trade unions. To fulfil the task of representing, caring for, and protecting the rights and legitimate interests of workers, trade unions at all levels have carried out concrete and practical activities.

In the past tenure, trade unions at all levels regularly organised meetings and integrated activities to propagate new policies and documents related to employees. Incomes of the administrative and non-business sectors range from 4.9 million - 7.5 million VND (203 USD – 310 USD) per person a month; and the production and business sector from 7 - 15 million VND.

The Labour Federation of Yen Thuy district has always focused on well performing tasks of protecting the legal and legitimate rights and interests of union members and workers according to the provisions of law. Activities are diverse and practical, demonstrating the important role and position of the trade unions, helping build a stable and harmonious labour relationship, contributing to the successful implementation of the tasks of local agencies, units and businesses.



Workers of Nam Son Company Limited, Doan Ket commune, Yen Thuy district, are equipped with knowledge and skills to prevent and fight fire and explosion in production and business.


Every year, the district Labor Federation proactively coordinates with authorities of all levels and sectors to organise supporting programmes and give gifts to impoverished members. It also maintains cultural, artistic, physical and sports activities among employees. For the 2017 - 2023 tenure, it has supported the construction of four new houses and repaired two social houses with a total cost of 220 million VND.

The federation signed four cooperation agreements with companies and businesses with terms beneficial to union members and employees. It has mobilised nearly 700 million VND to give scholarships to children of union members and workers in difficult circumstances on the occasion of the new school year.

Bui Van Dien, Chairman of Yen Thuy district's Labour Federation, said that to continue to be a solid "fulcrum" for workers, the district's Labor Federation focuses on advising the Party Committee and the local administration to fulfill policies and laws related to workers while promoting communication work and legal advice, raising awareness of rights, obligations and responsibilities of workers, among others.

It will also closely coordinate with relevant sectors of the district to inspect, examine and supervise the implementation of policies and laws on labour and unions, social insurance, health insurance, unemployment insurance, and matters related to union members and employees at enterprises in order to create a safe and healthy working environment, contributing to promoting local socio-economic development.
