The provincial association of the elderly on December 25 organised a conference to review the operation of the fund for care of elderly during 2018-2023 and roll out tasks in 2024.


 The Elderly’s certificates of merit to organisations with excellent contributions to the patriotic emulation "Old people set typical example”.


During 2018-2023, the management council of the fund well implemented policies for the elderly in the province.

Of the mobilised 27.9 billion VND (1.14 million USD), 14 billion VND was spent on gifts for the elderly, 6.7 billion VND was used to fund activities to support and promote the role of the elderly, and 1.4 billion VND for the establishment and maintenance of inter-generation clubs.

In 2023, the associations at all levels admitted more than 6,500 members, raising the membership of the provincial association to nearly 122,000.

The all-level associations have paid due regard to taking care of their members, with 95% of the elderly getting timely primary health care and regular medical check-up, and all sick members receiving examination and care from their families and the community.

As many as 47,730 members are joining activities held by 1,628 clubs nationwide.

Besides, the fund gave supported and built houses for 17 old people in difficult circumstances.

At the conference, participants discussed and agreed on 12 tasks and measures to complete the fund’s plan in 2024.

Meanwhile, 33 organisations with standout contributions to the activities of the provincial association of the elderly in 2023, as well as the mobilisation of resources for the elderly care fund during 2018-2023, were bestowed with the provincial association’s certificates of merit.

Progress in ethnic minority education

In the 2024 - 2025 school year, the entire Hoa Binh provincial education sector includes 520 educational institutions and schools. Among them are 13 ethnic boarding schools with 153 classes and 4,487 students. Four of these schools have met national standards, reaching 30.7 percent.
