Students of Hoa Binh province secured 41 prizes in the National Exam for selecting Excellent High School Students for the 2023 – 2024 school year. This is a commendable result for the local education sector after nine years of not winning the first prize in the xams.
Representatives of
the Board of Directors of the Hoang Van Thu High School for the Gifted, heads
of the teams, and the excellent high school students of the province in the
2023 - 2024 academic year.
Students of the Hoang Van Thu High School for
the Gifted won 38 out of the 41 prizes, including one first prize on History,
four second prizes, 12 third prizes, and 21 consolation prizes.
Students of the provincial Boarding High School
for Ethnic Minorities secured two consolation prizes on geography, while a
student of the Luong Son High School won one consolation prize on the Chinese
language.
According to the school's Board of Directors of
the Hoang Van Thu High School for the Gifted, the provincial team in this
year's examination has shown remarkable progress compared to previous years.
Bui Van Duong, Principal of Hoang Van Thu High
School for the Gifted, said the exam aims to encourage both teachers and
students to enhance their abilities and creativity, contributing to promoting
the quality improvement of teaching and learning. It also aims to identify
students with talents in specific subjects, thus implementing the goal of
nurturing talents for the country. In comparison to the previous academic
years, the quality of students in this year's exam is better, with candidates
winning awards in all subjects, especially the first prize on history.
In recent years, with the support of provincial
authorities, departments, and sectors have applied policies to support students
and teams. The rewards for students and teams winning national awards have
encouraged teachers and students to continuously strive for remarkable
achievements.
In the past three years, the number of prizes
increased significantly compared to that of previous years. Specifically, in
the 2021 - 2022 and the 2022 – 2023 academic years, local students won 23 and
28 prizes, respectively.
This achievements were attributed to the
attention and encouragement from the provincial leaders, the leadership of the
provincial Department of Education and Training, parents, and the relentless
efforts by teachers and students of Hoang Van Thu High School for the Gifted,
the provincial Boarding High School for Ethnic Minorities, and the Luong Son
High School, especially efforts of heads of the 12 teams and subject
teachers.
More than just an information technology teacher, Bui Van Nien is an inspiring figure who has nurtured the scientific curiosity and creative spirit of students in Vietnam’s ethnic minority communities.
Da Bac is the most disadvantaged mountainous district in Hoa Binh province, with ethnic minorities accounting for about 90% of its population. Over the past years, the district has mobilised resources to implement ethnic policies to improve the quality of life of local people.
In recent years, Hoa Binh province has consistently prioritised the protection, care, and education of children, particularly those from ethnic minorities and disadvantaged backgrounds, by creating a safe, healthy, and nurturing environment for their all-round development.
The Steering Committee for Tobacco Harm Prevention and Control of Hoa Binh province, in coordination with the Tobacco Harm Prevention and Control Fund, held a ceremony on May 28 in response to the World No Tobacco Day (May 31) and the National No Tobacco Week (from May 25 to 31). The event was chaired by Nguyen Van Toan, Standing Vice Chairman of the provincial People’s Committee and head of the Steering Committee.
Since 2021, the Center for Industrial Promotion and Industrial Development Consulting (CIIDC) under the Department of Industry and Trade has been implementing a school lighting model as part of the plan for using energy efficiently and economically in Hoa Binh Province in the pẻiod of 2021 - 2025. This model not only aims to improve the learning conditions and enhance the education quality, but it also promotes the message of energy saving, energy security, environmental protection and contributes to the goals of socio-economic development.
In the 2024 - 2025 school year, the entire Hoa Binh provincial education sector includes 520 educational institutions and schools. Among them are 13 ethnic boarding schools with 153 classes and 4,487 students. Four of these schools have met national standards, reaching 30.7 percent.
