In order to ensure a warm Lunar New Year (Tet) festival for all, the Hoa Binh Department of Labour, Invalids and Social Affairs implemented a social welfare plan and advised relevant agencies to care for policy beneficiaries, poor and near-poor households as well as people subject to social support and workers in businesses during Tet.
Leaders of the Hoa Binh Department of Labour, Invalids and Social Affairs present Tet gifts to children from poor families in Toan Son commune of Da Bac district.
The department advised the provincial People’s Committee to send a delegation to the Truong Son and Road 9 national martyrs’ cemeteries in the central province of Quang Tri and other works commemorating martyrs in central localities.
It also proposed the presenting of Tet gifts to wounded and injured soliders who are receiving services at nursing centres for people who rendered services to the nation in other provinces.
Meanwhile, the department's offcials also prepared gifts and joined leaders of the province to visit wounded and injured vetarans and heroic Vietnamese mothers in the province. The department also directed the Labour, Invalids and Social Affairs Divisions in districts and Hoa Binh city to present gifts from the State President and the province to 23,855 people with a total value of nearly 7.49 billion VND (304.29 USD).
During the Tet festival, Hoa Binh spent nearly 23.62 billion VND supporting poor and near-poor households, along with 292.3 million VND for people subject to social support, 4.44 billion VND for the elderly, and 794.68 million VND for needy children.
A survey on local businesses showed that the average wage of local workers in 2023 rose 6.1% year on year to 6.4 million VND per month. Meanwhile, the average Tet 2024 bonus was 3.42 million VND each, down 5.2% from 2023.
At HANOI JVC Training Center (Hanoi), the Farmers’s Support Center, the Provincial Farmers' Union and VTC1 International Development joint Stock Company recently held a signing ceremony for a cooperation agreement to link consulting and create the labor resources working abroad for a limited period of time.

The Board for Women's Advancement of Hoa Binh province on November 11 officially launched the Action Month for Gender Equality, focusing on preventing and addressing gender-based violence. The festival of great national solidarity and culture in 2024 was held at the communal house of Da Bac district on November 5. Vice Chairman of the provincial People’s Committee Nguyen Van Toan and leaders of departments and sectors attended the event.
