Companies and factories across Hoa Binh have conducted various activities to care for trade union members and labourers in the locality during the Workers’ Month in May, encouraging them to work harder and contributing to bringing resolutions of the resolutions of trade union congresses at all levels into life.

Since late April, in Luong Son industrial park, many activities in response to
major national events and the Workers’ Month 2024 have been held, drawing a
large number of labourers.
The movement of "Good labour – Creative labour” has been implemented in all
businesses. Activities to care for workers have been carried out in diverse
forms, including a sports competition in Luong Son industrial park that was
held in mid-April and drew more than 400 trade union members and labourers.
Le Xuan Uoc, a worker of CoAsia CM VINA JSC, said that cultural, art and sports
activities have provided workers with chances to meet and exchange, thus
increasing their solidarity, encouraging them to make more contributions to the
growth of businesses.
The Workers’ Month 2024 themed "Fostering solidarity among workers – Realising
resolutions” has been carried out in line with the action month for food safety
and the celebration of the 138th May Day, 70th anniversary of the Dien Bien Phu
Victory, and 134th birthday of President Ho Chi Minh.
The trade unions at all levels have advised Party Committees, administrations
at all levels and employers to organise activities for workers.
Accordingly, more than 50% of local trade unions are expected to organise at
least one activity each, while more than 30% of trade unions at public agencies
are hoped to hold activities in response to the Workers’ Day 2024.
In April and May, the trade union at all levels have coordinated together to
organised activities to popularise resolutions and activities for workers,
including sports competitions, art and health care activities, and support to
workers facing difficulties.
The union has implemented widespread activities to promote the movement of
studying and following President Ho Chi Minh’s ideology, moral example and
lifestyle, along with a number of other activities such as dialogues and
seminars between labourers and the administration and employers, thus enhancing
the pioneering role of trade union members and labourers in innovation
activities, and promoting their ideas in advancing technologies and improving
labour productivity.
Nguyen Thi Thanh Van, Vice President of the Vietnam General Confederation of
Labour affirmed that the Workers’ Month 2024 has been implemented with many
practical activities to care for the spiritual and material life of labourers.
In the coming time, new grassroots trade unions will be established, while more
resources will be mobilised to provide health care services and support for
needy labourers, thereby encouraging them and creating a positive atmosphere in
companies and agencies, thus contributing to promoting local socio-economic
development, Van said.

The Steering Committee for Tobacco Harm Prevention and Control of Hoa Binh province, in coordination with the Tobacco Harm Prevention and Control Fund, held a ceremony on May 28 in response to the World No Tobacco Day (May 31) and the National No Tobacco Week (from May 25 to 31). The event was chaired by Nguyen Van Toan, Standing Vice Chairman of the provincial People’s Committee and head of the Steering Committee.
Since 2021, the Center for Industrial Promotion and Industrial Development Consulting (CIIDC) under the Department of Industry and Trade has been implementing a school lighting model as part of the plan for using energy efficiently and economically in Hoa Binh Province in the pẻiod of 2021 - 2025. This model not only aims to improve the learning conditions and enhance the education quality, but it also promotes the message of energy saving, energy security, environmental protection and contributes to the goals of socio-economic development.
In the 2024 - 2025 school year, the entire Hoa Binh provincial education sector includes 520 educational institutions and schools. Among them are 13 ethnic boarding schools with 153 classes and 4,487 students. Four of these schools have met national standards, reaching 30.7 percent.
