The Vietnam Women Union Central Committee and the UNICEF Vietnam on May 28 organised a programme in response to World Menstrual Hygiene Day 2024. The online programme was connected to more than 300 sites in the country's 63 cities and provinces.

World Menstrual Hygiene Day, observed annually on May 28, is dedicated to breaking taboos and raising awareness of the importance of good menstrual hygiene management (MHM). The annual global day aims to create a world where no one is held back because they menstruate by 2030.

This year's event featured a wide range of activities such as sharing knowledge and skills on menstrual hygiene management through art performances, as well as practical and effective solutions and initiatives in this regard, along with exchange activities.

It sent out the message of acting together to create a world where women and girls have full access to information, education, facilities, and clean water and hygiene services to ensure personal hygiene.

The model of efficient energy lighting - Spreading the light of education

Since 2021, the Center for Industrial Promotion and Industrial Development Consulting (CIIDC) under the Department of Industry and Trade has been implementing a school lighting model as part of the plan for using energy efficiently and economically in Hoa Binh Province in the pẻiod of 2021 - 2025. This model not only aims to improve the learning conditions and enhance the education quality, but it also promotes the message of energy saving, energy security, environmental protection and contributes to the goals of socio-economic development.

Progress in ethnic minority education

In the 2024 - 2025 school year, the entire Hoa Binh provincial education sector includes 520 educational institutions and schools. Among them are 13 ethnic boarding schools with 153 classes and 4,487 students. Four of these schools have met national standards, reaching 30.7 percent.
