The Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Yen Thuy district has identified that participating in building the new rural areas is one of its key tasks. Based on the practical experience, in recent years, the Fatherland Front Committee at all levels in the district has implemented many creative and effective methods in mobilizing and gathering the people, strengthening the great national unity bloc, and making the significant contributions to the district's progress in building the new rural areas.


The pomelo farming model of Nguyen Xuan Dien's family in Dai Dong hamlet, Ngoc Lương commune (Yen Thuy) creates an income of 200 - 250 million VND per year.

Ms. Bui Thi Binh, the Head of the District’s Mass Mobilization Committee and the Chairman of the Fatherland Front Committee of Yen Thuy district, says: In the process of building the new rural areas, Fatherland Front Committee at all levels in the district operates on the principle "People know, people discuss, people do, people check, and people benefit”, thereby it helps to collaborate with the various organizations to encourage the people to actively respond to the movement "Yen Thuy District has been uniting to build the new rural areas”, the campaign "All people have been uniting to build the new rural areas and the civilized urban areas”, and other emulation movements at the grassroots levels. The propaganda and mobilization work is organized in various forms, helping the people understand the purpose, meaning, and importance of building the new rural areas in their lives. Additionally, the district’sFatherland Front Committee has launched and guided the communes in implementing the tasks of building the new rural areas with the specific actions such as: "Self-managed Road Section”, "Clean House, Beautiful Garden, Fresh Environment, Civilized Alley,” and "Self-managed Family Group for Environmental Protection”.

Implementing the emulation movement "Yen Thuy District has been uniting to build the new rural areas”, being tied to the five contents of the campaign "All people unite to build the new rural areas and civilized urban areas”, has created a combined strength of the entire political system, mobilizing the active participation of various classes of people, contributing to the socio-economic development of the district. With the motto "The state and the people work together, the Fatherland Front Committee and other organizations have mobilized the people to clear land, and contribute money and labor days to build the public welfare projects. 

Over the past five years, the people have donated over 14,600 square meters of land for the rural roads and public works; contributed over 21 billion VND, and 28,000 labor days to concrete many in-field canals. The people have actively been applying the scientific and technical advances in production, intensifying farming, consolidating land, exchanging plots, renovating old gardens; maintaining environmental sanitation; planting flowers and trees, building the model of new rural residential areas, and the model gardens... The One Commune One Product (OCOP) program is tied to the restructuring of the rural economy, improving income and living standards, resulting in many excellent economic models and legitimate wealth creation, producing many notable OCOP products such as: Ca Gai Leo (solanum procumbens), peanut oil, Du Din wine, Lac Sy honey... The district aims to achieve the standards of the new rural district by 2025, with 10 out of the 10 communes meeting the new rural standards, 3 communes meeting the advanced new rural standards, 2 communes meeting the model new rural standards, 30 model new rural residential areas, and 400 model gardens...

The Fatherland Front Committee at all levels, along with its member organizations, regularly mobilizes and assists the poor and implements the social security programs with the participation of the entire political system and the consensus and response of the people. In the past five years, the Fund "For the Poor” has mobilized nearly 2.26 billion VND. This fund has been used to build and repair 204 Houses of Great Solidarity, giving gifts to the families under the preferential policies, the people with meritorious services, the beneficiaries, and particularly the difficult households, and supporting the construction of livelihood models, contributing to the poverty reduction in the locality. Additionally, the Fatherland Front Committee at all levels has been actively mobilizing the people to build a healthy and rich cultural and spiritual life, preserving and promoting the national cultural identity; caring for education and people's health.

Through the diverse, rich, appropriate, and effective forms and content of the propaganda by the Fatherland Front Committee and the socio-political organizations, the awareness of the officials, the party members, and the people in Yen Thuy District about building the new rural areas has been increasingly raised. Besides, the Fatherland Front Committee along with the local authorities and other sectors, continues to expand the effective models and new production development projects, raising incomes and living standards, and creating momentum for building the new rural areas. With the practical and effective activities, the Fatherland Front Committee at all levels in Yen Thuy district has affirmed its important role in building the new rural areas, especially in propaganda, mobilization, and gathering the united strength of all social strata, contributing to making Yen Thuy a new rural district by 2025 as planned.
