(HBO) - People across Lac Son district celebrate the country’s National Day on September 2 each year. The atmosphere on the day is vibrant as since early morning, sporting and culture-art activities take place in all villages of Muong Van and Muong Khoi. All family members gather together drinking corn wine and people wear their best clothes to visit each other’s house.

Each year, local residents celebrate their Independence Festival from August 25 with colourful costumes and flowers decorated along streets. However, this year, due to COVID-19 pandemic, Mong people in Mai Chau have not gathered in traditional markets but celebrated the special event right at home. (HBO) - Muong Vang in Lac Son district is one of the four biggest and best-known Muong ethnic areas in Hoa Binh. With 90 percent of the local population being Muong ethnic people, the district has always paid special attention to the preservation and development of the local traditional cultural value.
(HBO) – Ha hamlet in Phu Lai commune, Yen Thuy district, was recognised as a model new-style rural residential area for the 2018 - 2020 period. It is home to more than 140 households of three ethnic groups, with 95 percent belonging to the Muong ethnic group. Over the past years, local residents have united and actively engaged in emulation movements, especially the one on building new-style countryside and civilised cities in tandem with the "All people stay united to develop a civilised lifestyle” movement.

(HBO) - Mo Muong is a unique cultural heritage of Muong ethnic group in Hoa Binh province and Lac Son district in particular. Mo Muong in Lac Son district has 23 traditional rituals and over 50 artisans are practicing it. The district is effectively preserving and upholding activities of Mo Muong artisans, as well as restoring traditional Mo prayers and collecting those in oblivion to hand them down to later generations.
(HBO) –Trai cave is one of prehistoric caves related to the Hoa Binh Culture. The relic was ranked as a national historical site by the then Ministry of Culture and Sports (now the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism) in 2001. Since its discovery, the cave has attracted a large number of Vietnamese and foreign scientists.
(HBO) - Building a civilised lifestyle is among major activities of an ongoing campaign of people in Yen Thuy district of Hoa Binh province, which is expected to contribute to meeting socio-economic development tasks and ensuring security-defence.
(HBO) – According to chief of Tan Lac district’s Culture and Sport Division Dinh Son Tung, in order to further enhance the preservation and upholding of cultural values in the locality, the district has continued directing and encouraging the establishment of Muong gong and folk singing clubs, especially Mo Muong clubs. In late March or early April, a district-level Mo Muong cultural value preservation club is scheduled to make its debut. Earlier, similar clubs were set up in Nhan My, My Hoa and Phong Phu communes.
