Bui Tien Luc, head of the provincial Party Committee's Commission for Mass Mobilisation and Chairman of the provincial VFF chapter, presents flowers to the two new members of the 15th provincial Fatherland Front Committee.
At the event, participants listened to and provided feedback on reports regarding the outcomes of the front work and the local socio-economic situation in the first half as well as the Front's tasks and socio-economic solutions set out for the last half.
In the first six months of the year, the provincial VFF committee at all levels effectively implemented the set tasks. As a result, the provincial fund for the poor allocated 14.6 billion VND (617,597 USD) to support the construction and repair of 229 charity houses, production development, and medical treatment for needy people; while the local relief fund provided 153 million VND to those in hardship. The province maintained the operation of over 3,500 self-management models. The Front chapter coordinated the organisation of many meetings with voters, 321 supervision missions, and 134 social critical conferences.
In the last six months of this year, the focus is set to be on implementing five work programmes that prioritise consolidating and promoting the strength of the national great solidarity in building the homeland and the country.
Addressing the conference, Hinh recommended the Front's works involving communications and public mobilisation continue to be overhauled and enhanced. People's opinions must be heard and and the sector must coordinate with the authorities to address pressing issues at the grassroots level, ensuring the legitimate rights and interests of the people.
It is also necessary to actively make moves to ensure social security, he noted.
At the conference, the provincial union of friendship organisations was approved to join the front committee, with its two members voted to be new members of the committee.
