The Prime Minister has approved the master plan for the development of the Tam Chuc National Tourism Area by 2030, in the northern province of Ha Nam.

The Tam Chuc National Tourism Area is located in Ba Sao town and the three hamlets of Vong, Khuyen Cong and Kha Phong in Kha Phong commune, Kim Bang district, Ha Nam province. The area of the core zone prioritised for the development of the tourism area is 4,000 hectares.

The plan aims to make Tam Chuc fundamentally meet the criteria of a national tourism area by 2025 and, by 2030, Tam Chuc will become a national tourism area with comprehensive technical infrastructure, high quality tourist products and a tourism brand, making an important contribution to the socio-economic development of the locality and adjacent areas, as well as becoming an attractive tourist centre of the Red River Delta region.

By 2025, Tam Chuc is expected to welcome approximately 3.7 million tourist arrivals, including 470,000 international arrivals, generating jobs for roughly 2,400 workers and 6 million tourist arrivals, including 750,000 international arrivals, generating jobs for about 4,500 workers by 2030. The total revenue from tourism is expected to reach VND1.1 trillion by 2025 and VND1.7 trillion by 2030.

In particular, the domestic tourist market focuses on Hanoi and its neighbouring provinces in the north, such as Hung Yen, Hoa Binh, Nam Dinh, Ninh Binh, Thai Binh, Hai Phong, Quang Ninh Thuan, Nghe An, and Ha Tinh.

The tourism area will also focus on attracting international tourists from Japan, the Republic of Korea, Taiwan (China), China, France, Spain, England, Germany, the US, Canada, Australia and India.

In the first 9 months of 2024, Mai Chau district, Hoa Binh province welcomed over 684 thousand visitors to visit and relax. In which, over 516 thousand domestic visitors and more than 168 thousand international visitors. Total revenue from tourism is estimated at over 821 billion VND.
