Da Nang International Airport has been named as the best airport in terms of service quality by the Civil Aviation Authority of Vietnam (CAAV), following a survey of nearly 21,000 passengers

The second and third positions belong to Noi Bai and Tan Son
Nhat International Airports, respectively.
The airport serving the central city of
Da Nang received an average score of 4.19, compared with 4.13 for Noi Bai and
3.96 for Tan Son Nhat.
The key criteria of Da Nang Airport were
all given scores of higher than 4, namely attitude of airport staff 4.34,
service quality of airport staff 4.32, airport space 4.28, signposts to
check-in area 4.27 and the number of carts 4.24.
However, scores of lower than 4 were
given to the Wi-Fi quality at the departure terminal and lounges, the number of
taxis and fares, free drinking water fountains and terminal noise.
According to the CAAV, despite
improvements to airport infrastructure in recent years, there remain a number
of problems that affect the service quality at airports in Vietnam.
In the first six months of 2018,
Vietnamese carriers operated more than 150,000 flights, carrying 35.4 million
passengers, up 16.8% compared with the same period of last year.
Airports in Vietnam handled 52.8 million
passengers, up 14% annually.
The civil aviation market in Vietnam has
the participation of 71 international airlines from 28 countries and
territories worldwide, which, together with three Vietnamese carriers, are
operating over 140 international routes.
In the first half of 2018, the on-time flight
performance of Vietnamese airlines was 86.1%, while the ratio of cancellations
was 0.3%, down 0.2 percentage points from the same period of 2017.
