(HBO)- Muong Bi - Tan Lac is one of four big areas off Muong ethnic people in the province. It is a land of rich potential in culture, natural resources and beautiful natural landscapes. In recent years, the district has focused on exploiting and developing different types of tourism.


The community tourism in Ngoi village, Ngoi Hoa commune (Tan Lac) has always kept the national identity to develop tourism.

Tan Lac district is a land of famous festivals such as the Festival of the New Year Tree (Khai Ha Festival), the Festival of catching stream fish in Lu Son commune. There are many caves and beautiful landscapes such as Hoa Tien cave (Ngoi Hoa commune), Ton cave (Nam Son commune), Ngoc Son nature reserve in Ngo Luong, Cot Co mountain (Dich Giao commune), the Moon waterfall (Do Nhan commune), Muoi cave (Muong Khen town), Muong ancient village in Ai (Phong Phu commune) ...

There are has 2 hotels with 2-star standards, 7 accommodation establishments and 2 community tourist spots in the whole district.

The district has formed a number of tourist attractions such as Ngoi village in Ngoi Hoa commune; Muong  accient village in Ai in Phong Phu commune; Da Trang Pass in Phu Cuong Commune, Chieng village in Lung Van commune, Ton village in Nam Son commune, Thung village in Quyet Chien commune, Buoi village in Phu Cuong commune and so on. The number of tourists and the tourism revenue of the district has positively changed. In 2018, the total number of tourists víiting the district was 106,466 arrivals, increasing 11,737 arrivals compared to 2017. The number of international visitors was 2,810 and that of the domestic visitors was 103,656. The turnover reached 16,766 million VND, 5,810 million VND higher than that of 2017. The total tourism income reached more than 30,178 million VND, increasing over 10,458 million VND compared to 2017.

Many enterprises and investors are interested in researching and implementing the project for the tourism development in the area. Currently there are nine projects in the process of research, survey, construction and investment in the field of tourism in the whole district. Five projects have been invested by the People's Committee of the province. They are Hoa Binh Lake resort and eco-tourism project in Ngoi Hoa commune with an investment capital of 800 billion VND, the project of eco-tourism area and May valley nature reserve in Quyet Chien commune with investment capital of 130 billion VND, the project of eco-tourism and Thung Khe spirituality - Tan Lac - Hoa Binh in Phu Cuong commune with an investment capital of 299.456 billion VND, Ngoi Hoa eco-tourism project in Ngoi Hoa commune with an investment capital of 474,719 billion VND, the project of V’Star ecological tourism area  - Ngoi Hoa in Ngoi Hoa commune with an investment capital of VND 125 billion.

Hoa Binh Lake area forms attractive tourist destination

The man-made Hoa Binh Lake, with a water surface area of approximately 9,000 hectares and a capacity of 9.45 billion cubic meters, stretches over 200 kilometers from Hoa Binh to Son La provinces. In 9 months, Mai Chau district welcomed over 684 thousand visitors

In the first 9 months of 2024, Mai Chau district, Hoa Binh province welcomed over 684 thousand visitors to visit and relax. In which, over 516 thousand domestic visitors and more than 168 thousand international visitors. Total revenue from tourism is estimated at over 821 billion VND.
