(HBO) - Mr. Dinh Van Huy, the Vice Chairman of the People's Committee of Hien Luong commune (Da Bac) states that the community tourism in Ke hamlet has strongly affected the socio-economic development of the locality. The community tourism has been contributing to increasing the people's income and created a favorable environment for the people to think creatively and more consciously in exploiting the advantages for the economic development.

In addition, the development of the community tourism has also contributed to preserving and promoting the traditional cultural values of Muong ethnic people.

Tourists are enjoying food at Ke hamlet, Hien Luong commune (Da Bac).

At present, there are 4 tourist establishments in the commune, of which 3 households doing the community tourism in Ke village have been licensed to operate (Sanh Thuan, Sac Luyen and Huu Thao homestays) and 1 establishment is under the construction Mai hamlet. In order to support the households to do tourism, the Party committee and the administration of Hien Luong commune has strengthened the propaganda for all people to participate in tourism activities such as joining hands to keep environmental sanitation, keeping stilt houses and the traditional dress. The Party committee and commune’s authorities always have open policies for the businesses to invest in tourism. In addition, they have set up a project to develop tourism in Hien Luong commune in the period of 2020 - 2025, focusing on developing the community and lake tourism.

Besides, 3 households doing the community tourism in Ke hamlet are always conscious of improving the quality of services to serve the tourists. All of the three households have strictly abided the regulations on ensuring the information security in the locality by honestly declaring the number of the foreign and domestic guests staying in the homestay. They have also signed a commitment to ensure the information security, not letting the situation of contending the tourists happen. The service prices have been listed and strictly implemented so that ripping the tourists off does not happen.

With a lot of solutions to attract tourists, Ke village in Hien Luong commune has become an ideal destination for domestic and foreign tourists. From the beginning of the year until now, Ke hamlet has about 2,000 turns of visitors. The number of tourists keeps increasing with years, creating new opportunities for Hien Luong commune to develop social economy.

Tourism development has contributed to raising people's awareness of creating the quality products with the brand of the commune such as developing cage fish in association with developing the lake tourism. The households doing tourism in Ké hamlet have coordinated with fish farming households so that visitors can experience and visit the fish raising on the lake. Currently, there have been a total of 4 ha of ponds of fish in the whole commune with the total number of 189 cages of fish. The production is estimated at over 30 tons. The fresh and delicious fish and fresh vegetables are special gifts for the tourists to buy after each trip in Hien Luong. In addition, people in Hien Luong commune often communicate with tourist delegations, get cultural exchange, improve knowledge.

The community tourism in Ke hamlet has made an important contribution to the socio-economic development in Hien Luong commune. Currently, Hien Luong commune has reached 15 out of the 19 criteria for new rural areas. The average income is 15 million VND each person. The poverty rate has decreased to 11.55%. The cultural and spiritual life of the people has been constantly improved.

In the first 9 months of 2024, Mai Chau district, Hoa Binh province welcomed over 684 thousand visitors to visit and relax. In which, over 516 thousand domestic visitors and more than 168 thousand international visitors. Total revenue from tourism is estimated at over 821 billion VND.
