(HBO) - During a week-long Lunar New Year (Tet) holiday from January 23-29 or the 29th day of the last month of the previous lunar year – fifth day of the first lunar month, Hoa Binh province welcomed about 95,000, including 4,100 foreigners. The total tourism revenue was estimated at 42 billion VND.

Ahead of the Tet holiday, the provincial
Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism instructed local city and districts
as well as tourist sites to ensure facilities, security and order, food safety
and hygiene to welcome tourists. Carrying out the Vietnam National
Administration of Tourism on the implementation of preventive measures against the
acute respiratory disease caused by a new strain of coronavirus (2019 – nCoV),
the provincial department issued instructions asking local tourism operators to
strictly carry out necessary measures in anticipation of the disease.
Besides, to attract domestic and
foreign visitors, numerous tourist sites in the province organised New Year
celebration programmes and festivals such as the Vietnamese Scientists’ Heritage
Park and Khanh Pagoda festival in Cao Phong and Lac Thuy Pagoda festival in Lac
Thuy./.
