In September and October, the rice fields in the upland villages of Da Bac district are ripen. That is also the time when visitors can visit and record the vivid and seasonal movies. If you want to experience the work of a real farmer, you can go to the field with the local people, roll up the pants and use sickles to harvest rice. During the visit and discovery of the community tourism in Da Bia, Tien Phong commune, Ms. Le Thu Huyen and a group of friends from Hanoi had the opportunity to experience one day as a farmer. Ms. Huyen says: We are very excited and happy when we first harvested rice. The farmers enthusiastically instructed us how to use sickles to cut them, then use the rice stalks to bundle them into small bundles to dry right in the field when it is sunny, or when it rains, it is easy to arrange them in the carts and take them home.

Among the experiential activities taking place almost all year round, tourists love fishing activities, learning about the aquaculture on Hoa Binh lake area. In the community tourism villages, visitors can visit fish cages, listen to the stories, feed fish or pull fish nets, buy fish as gifts for the relatives, which help them have more authentic experiences about the local people’s life. In particular, the model of fish cage farming by Mr. Bui Van Anh, Duc Phong hamlet, Tien Phong commune is one of the tourism attractions chosen by many tourists. The path of the fish farming area is by rafts, growing vegetables, flowers, creating green colors and a friendly feeling, so it is quite convenient for visiting. Some foreign visitors like to experience pulling fish at night, pouring shrimp, catching shrimp in the early morning with the local people. Participating in this activity, visitors satisfy their curiosity about the work, the livelihood efforts to improve the life of the fishermen in the river.

Recently, Dao community tourism village in Sung hamlet, Cao Son commune has been attracting many international tourists to visit and stay. This is the result of the the experience activities focused on by homestays. On the way to discover the natural beauty and the local people, visitors are immersed in the daily life of the people through the collection of Shan Tuyet tea on Bieu mountain, harvesting cassava and other seasonal agricultural products with the local people.

Community Tourism in Da Bac currently has a number of experience activities, in which livelihood activities help bring new and close feelings about the life and the local people. With the increasing demand of tourists who want to participate in the experience activities, Da Bac Community Tourism Company has given some suggestions so that visitors can best prepare for the trip. Specifically, the rice harvest is usually in May and June in Sung hamlet, in September and October in Sung hamlet, Duc Phong; tea collecting and processing are from February to October annually in Sung hamlet; the cassava harvest is in November - December in Sung hamlet; forest’s bamboo shoots harvest is all year round in Duc Phong and Ke hamlets; Fishery activities (fish cages, net catching, and shrimp catching ...) are all year round in Duc Phong, Mo Hem, Ke hamlets...
