(HBO) - Located in Mu Khuong village, Lac Son district’s Tu Do commune, Mu Waterfalls has been renowned as one of Hoa Binh’s most beautiful nature waterfalls, attracting a large crowd of visitors during weekends.

Mu Waterfalls in Lac Son district’s Tu Do commune is an attractive destination for visitors during summer.

Nearly 30km away from the heart of Lac Son, Mu Waterfalls is attracting many locals and visitors who want to cool off on hot summer days. It flows between beautiful terraced paddy fields and stilt houses, creating a very tranquil scene. Visitors can also explore the beauty of nearby Ngo Luong – Ngoc Son Nature Reserve and the culture of Muong ethnic minority people in nearby villages, and enjoy wild vegetables and seasonal specialties here.

like many other destinations, the tourist arrivals to Mu Waterfalls declined significantly this year due to impacts of COVID-19. But local homestay and tourism service providers in Tu Do havenot lowered their guard against the COVID-19. Instead, they have urged visitors to comply with the Ministry of Health’s "5K” message, and provided them with free masks and hand sanitiser.

Due to COVID-19, most of the visitors just enjoyed the waterfalls during the day but not spent the night, said Quach Thi Mai, owner of Suoi Mu 99 Homestay. "However, our family still fully undertakes COVID-19 preventive measures, provides our guests with hand sanitiser and masks, regularly cleans rooms and dining area and disinfects the homestay,” she said.

COVID-19 preventive rules must come first, she said, adding that her homestay wants to be ready to welcome back visitors whenever the pandemic is put under control. Tu Do commune currently has 13 homestay service providers that are mostly busy during weekends, said Bui Van Sum, Vice Chairman of the commune’s People’s Committee. Local authorities have been cooperating with these businesses to keep records of staying guests, especially those from other cities and provinces. The commune has also established Thac Mu tourism service cooperative to create more jobs and increase incomes for local people./.
