(HBO) - Being one of the central communes in Muong Bi region, Nhan My commune (Tan Lac) has over 95% of Muong ethnic people living with a thousand-year-old culture. From the houses on stilts, the ethnic costumes, the cuisine and the provincial-level relics and scenic spots... all create attractive destinations, attracting tourists from near and far to visit and explore.

Cot Co Mountain in Muong Bi (on the left) in Nhan My Commune (Tan Lac) has been recognized as a provincial scenic at the end of 2017 with the profound historical, cultural and spiritual values at the end of 2017.

Strolling along the provincial road, 436, you can breathe in the fresh air in the early days of the new spring, admiring Cot Co Mountain in Muong Bi located on the territory of Nhan My commune and a part in land of Phong Phu commune. At the end of 2017, Cot Co Mountain in Muong Bi was recognized as a provincial-level scenic relics. Possessing a mystical beauty with the profound historical and cultural values, Cot Co Mountain in Muong Bi has become a typical symbol in the spiritual life of the residents there.

Along with Cot Co mountain, Trang waterfall in Trang Ta hamlet is a provincial-level scenic relics, which is famous as one of the most beautiful waterfalls in the province. Trang Waterfall consists of 3 waterfall points, about 1.5 km from the source to the northwest. The groundwater flows down and filters through the rocky crevices, along the terraced fields, and it creates a cool and clear stream that makes visitors here admire and be moved by the beauty of nature. Taking advantage of Trang waterfall potential, more than 30 households in Trang Ta hamlet have developed services to serve tourists to increase income and improve the quality of life. Mr. Bui Van Tu from Trang Ta hamlet says: "Every year, the peak, which is from April to September, is the time when the waterfall is rolling, releasing white foam to attract tourists in the area and the surrounding areas to admire and immerse oneself in the cool stream. On the nice weather days or at weekends, Trang waterfall welcomes 400-500 turns of visitors each day. In the past 2 years, due to Covid-19 epidemics, Trang waterfall has been gloomy, and there are hardly any tourists”.

Defining tourism development as one of the economic sectors with high efficiency, the communal Party committees and appropriate authorities have taken full advantage of the potential of the cool, fresh climate and natural landscape, the preferential natural resources along with the characteristics and cultural identity of Muong people to attract tourists. In the villages, the ancient houses on stilts, customs and traditions, the ethnic cuisine and friendly people are still preserved... Besides, the relics and scenic spots in the area are embellished and preserved, promoting the values to attract tourists.

The problem in tourism development is that the planning, promotion and introduction of tourism products are still limited. The connection has not been created to attract businesses and investors in the field of tourism to the area. Some households do business in tourism services on a spontaneous, small scale. The infrastructure system serving tourists has not been paid attention and built synchronously.

Mr. Dinh Thanh Binh, the Vice Chairman of Nhan My People's Committee says: Determining the potentials and advantages available for tourism development, the communal Party Committee and appropriate authorities have directed the branches and mass organizations to actively advise and develop a plan to promote and introduce the characteristics of the local tourism. In which, it is necessary to focus on developing the community tourism in order to preserve and promote the cultural identity of Muong ethnic people, exploring and experiencing tourism. The commune wants the authorities at all levels to pay attention and support funding to invest in the infrastructure system for tourism development, creating the links for businesses and potential investors in the field of tourism. Thereby, the strong tourism products of the locality is gradually being built, creating the stable jobs for the rural workers, increasing the incomes, and contributing to the socio-economic development.
