(HBO) - On June 10, the Hoa Binh provincial Tourism Association held the 3rd Congress, for the 2023-2028 term. Attending the event were Dr. Vu Tien Loc, deputy of the 15th National Assembly, Chairman of the Vietnam International Arbitration Centre; leaders of the Vietnam National Administration of Tourism, the Vietnam Association of Foreign Invested Enterprises, and the Vietnam Tourism Association; Bui Van Tinh, former Secretary of the provincial Party Committee; Bui Duc Hinh, Vice Secretary of the provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the provincial People's Council; and Nguyen Van Toan, Vice Chairman of the provincial People's Committee.

In the previous term from 2015 to 2019 and 2022, the
provincial Tourism Association actively mobilised members and businesses to
make efforts to exploit the province’s potential and advantages to build
attractive tourism products and improve service quality to attract more
visitors.
According to data from the provincial Department of Culture,
Sports and Tourism, in the 2015 – 2019 period, the target groups of the Tourism
Development Programme all overfulfilled the targets. In 2022, after the
COVID-19 pandemic was put under control, the number of tourists increased
again. The province welcomed 3 million visitors last year and earned 3.1
trillion VND (132 million USD), equal to 203% and 204.9% of those of the
previous year, and 116.3% and 129.3% of the yearly plans, respectively.
The congress set out directions and goals for the 2023-2028
term, with focus on improving the operational capacity of the association's
Executive Board, mobilising resources to build a financial fund to ensure the
operation and sustainable development of the association, stepping up tourism
and investment promotion in various forms, and improving the quality of
services.
Addressing the congress, Toan took note of and praised the
achievements of the provincial Tourism Association in the last term. He asked
the association to coordinate with relevant departments and agencies in
developing the market and promoting tourism; focus resources on building new,
unique and attractive products to meet the increasing demand of tourists;
improve the quality of human resources; promote digital transformation and the
application of technologies in business management and administration; and
further increase the effectiveness of the Smart Tourism Portal.
The congress elected and debuted the association’s new
Executive Board with 28 members. Ha Van Thang, Chairman of March 26 joint Stock
Company, was elected as Chairman of the association.
On this occasion, the Vietnam Tourism Association awarded certificates
of merit to eight collectives and 15 individuals with outstanding achievements
in tourism service business and contributions to the development of the
business community, and the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism also
presented certificates of merit to three collectives and five individuals with
excellent achievements in tourism business in the 2015-2023 period. Within the
framework of the congress, the association donated 50 million VND to the
provincial Children's Fund to help disadvantaged children.
The picturesque scenery of Hoa Binh Lake has endowed its tourism site with a unique allure. In recent years, localities have been harnessing the potential of the lake area and domestic and international tourists have chosen the site for sightseeing and leisure journeys.
The Hoa Binh Lake tourism area is expected to become a national tourism site by 2030, focusing on developing synchronous and modern technical facilities, and high-quality and branded tourism products imbued with national cultural identities. The tourist site also aims to become the largest tourist centre in the province, and one of 12 key tourist areas in the Northern midland and mountainous region
On April 5th, in Hoa Binh city, the Tourism Association of Hoa Binh province and Tourism Association of Ba Ria - Vung Tau province jointly organized a conference to promote cooperation and tourism development. There was the attendance of Mr. Nguyen Van Toan, the Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee.
Hoa Binh has taken measures, focusing on removing barriers in terms of mechanism, policy, infrastructure, and upgrading technical infrastructure facilities serving tourism and the quality of human resources, to promote tourism development in the Hoa Binh Lake area.
Over the past time, Da Bac has deployed measures to lure more domestic and foreign visitors to the locality, aiming to turn tourism into the district’s economic spearhead.
Covering an area of over 52,000 hectares spanning districts of Mai Chau, Tan Lac, Cao Phong, Da Bac, and Hoa Binh City, Hoa Binh lake has strong potential for tourism development. In recent years, thanks to the attention of local Party Committees and authorities as well as support from international organisations, the advantages of tourism in the lake area have been utilised.
