Having opened for more than a month, the homestay gets positive feedback from many tourists. Doc Lap commune is well known for its beautiful natural scenery and fresh air. For generations, local people have lived a simple and peaceful life.

Recognising the commune’s favourable conditions for homestay development, Pham Hong Cuong from Ky Son ward, Hoa Binh city chose the commune to open a tourist homestay which is expected to help him develop his family economy while creating jobs and increasing income for local residents.

Investing billions of VND in the business, Cuong completed his dream homestay, making it an ideal place for families and groups of friends to spend time together.
Staying at the house of local people will offer tourists great experiences to know more about the lifestyle and culture of native people.

Covering an area of about 1.2ha, Doc Lap homestay is designed to be a resort and camping complex. Besides a main house to welcome guests and three bungalows, the homestay has a 5,000 sq.m lake with many kinds of fish.

Since its operation until now, Doc Lap Homestay has welcomed tourists in and out of the province.  Local products such as free-range chickens, and native pigs are sold at the homestay, helping to increase income for many local households.

According to Cuong, although it is a new model, local authorities give his business much support in developing community-based tourism.
Cuong said that in the coming time, he will work with schools to organize farming educational tours for students.

With a poetic and charming natural setting, untouched nature, fresh air, and cool weather around the year, Doc Lap homestay is a new tourist destination for one-day tours for holidaymakers in Hoa Binh and neighboring provinces and cities, especially Hanoi.
