The People's Committee of Hoa Binh province on August 7 held a meeting to review the implementation of the project "Building upland communes in Tan Lac district into provincial-level tourist areas by 2030, with a vision to 2050" in the first months of 2024, and deploy tasks for the coming time. Nguyen Van Toan, the Standing Vice Chairman of the provincial People's
Committee, delivers a concluding speech at the meeting.
Since the beginning of this
year, departments and localities have combined the implementation of the
project with the performance of their key tasks. Tan Lac district has focused
on carrying out the model "Community-based tourism associated with the
cultural identity of the Muong ethnic group in Van Son commune.” The provincial
Department of Agriculture and Rural Development has directed the development of
an eco-tourism and entertainment project in the special-use forest of the Ngoc
Son - Ngo Luong Nature Reserve for the 2021-2030 period, which will be
submitted to the provincial People's Committee for approval as a foundation for
attracting investors, creating a mechanism for embellishing relic sites in the
nature reserve area.
The Department of Industry
and Trade has carried out a project to upgrade the power grid system in remote
and extremely difficult areas in Tan Lac district.
Delegates at the meeting
discussed the difficulties and shortcomings in realising targets set in
Resolution No. 13-NQ/TU by 2025. The
deterioration of traffic roads connecting upland communes, unstable
telecommunications infrastructure and obstacles to environmental sanitation and
waste treatment were also touched upon.
In his concluding speech,
Toan underscored the need to prioritise resources for the project
"Building upland communes of Tan Lac district into provincial-level
tourist areas by 2030, with a vision to 2050". Relevant departments and
sectors should strengthen coordination with Tan Lac district to remove
difficulties, ensuring the progress of sub-projects and models, he continued.
Attention should be paid to the
implementation of the eco-tourism and entertainment project in the special-use
forest of the Ngoc Son - Ngo Luong Nature Reserve for 2021-2030 as well as to
upgrading degraded roads and building special tourism products, including those
under One Commune One Product (OCOP) programme.
It is necessary for Tan Lac
district to propose the provincial People's Committee speed up the project’s
progress to meet the set target, he said, adding that land fund and land use
planning for tourism development projects in the upland communes of Tan Lac
district should be reviewed. Dissemination campaigns should be launched to
raise public awareness of environmental sanitation, protecting resources and
landscapes in tourist areas and spots.
