Since the beginning of the year, Mai Chau district has focused on organizing the numerous major events of culture, sport, and tourism, highlighting the local ethnic cultural identity to attract visitors and stimulate the local tourism.


Xen Moung Festival in 2024, held at the district level, has attracted thousands of turns of domestic and international tourists to Mai Châu.

Notable events include Xen Muong Festival of Thai ethnic group and the recognition of Keng Loong as a National Intangible Cultural Heritage; and the Gau Tao Festival of Mong ethnic group. Additionally, the tourism products have been developed and expanded. The highland market, held every Sunday in Mai Châu town, has been maintained. The district also places the great emphasis on introducing and promoting tourism and services through the various diverse and rich forms.

By the end of July, the district welcomed over 500,000 turns of visitors, including 110,000 international tourists, with total tourism revenue exceeding 600 billion dongs. Along with the community-based tourism, the development of high-end resort tourism has significantly contributed to creating the quality products that appeal to a wide range of tourists, boosting the revenue for the tourism sector. Currently, in the whole district, there are 203 accommodation facilities, including 4 resorts, 8 hotels rated 1-3 stars, 38 guesthouses, and 158 homestays. Out of the 30 tourism and service projects approved by the province for survey and investment planning, 12 projects are already in operation, and the registered capital is over 1,140 billion dongs, of which 183 billion dongs has been realized.

In the first 9 months of 2024, Mai Chau district, Hoa Binh province welcomed over 684 thousand visitors to visit and relax. In which, over 516 thousand domestic visitors and more than 168 thousand international visitors. Total revenue from tourism is estimated at over 821 billion VND.
