(HBO) – Cao Phong – Muong Thang is known as the beautiful and well-off land where special cultural values and charming natural landscapes remain, with many tourism destinations leaving deep impressions on visitors. The district has two communes surrounding Hoa Binh lake, namely Binh Thanh and Thung Nai, with lakeside hamlets and villages embracing picturesque landscapes, creating the attractiveness of Cao Phong’s tourism.

Giang Mo tourism village in Binh Thanh commune is located on the Binh Thanh-Thung Nai route, about 15km away from the centre of Hoa Binh city. It is surrounded by the vast area of hills and mountains, the murmur of a brook in mid-air and a pristine nature. Well-maintained stilt houses loom in the morning dew. The sincere of local people could make any difficult people become tender.

Bo Temple in Thung Nai commune (Cao Phong district) and Vay Nua commune (Da Bac district) is a famous spiritual tourism destination which attracts many tourists to visit and explore Da River.

Also in Mo hamlet, Binh Thanh commune, on Road 435 to Hoa Binh lake, there is a statue of heroic martyr Cu Chinh Lan, a symbol of heroism. He was a clever and courageous soldier who sacrificed his life while fighting the enemy’s tanks on Road 6, contributing to the victory of the historical Hoa Binh campaign

Thung Nai commune boasts huge potential to develop numerous tourism types and is an ideal destination for tourists who love and wish to contemplate the pristine beauty of Hoa Binh lake.

After the construction of Hoa Binh hydropower plant, Thung Nai lake is viewed as the on land Ha Long Bay, which is a perfect combination of mountains, forests, islands and boundless space, turning the region into a wonderland.

Thung Nai commune is also home to Thac Bo temple. The temple’s right side lies on Sam Long hill, in a harmonious and spectacular location, with the mountain behind its back and a river in the front. Many boats traverse here since it is a famous spiritual tourism spot during the spring. The temple draws hundreds of thousands of visitors each year.

Besides, Thung Nai commune also develops other tourist and entertainment destinations around Hoa Binh lake such as Dua, Xanh, Qua and De islands, with a number of products and services, providing an ideal space for visitors to enjoy the lake’s scenery.

Cao Phong district has closely cooperated with authorised agencies to launch mechanisms and incentives to draw stronger tourism investment and step up State management on tourism activities.

It has also provided training for organisations and individuals who provide tourism services and created tourism products based on its advantages of landscape and cultural identity, while mobilising resources for transport infrastructure investment and implementing waterway safety regulations on Hoa Binh lake.

Road 435’s Binh Thanh – Thung Nai section is currently being upgraded and Thung Nai wharf and other transport conditions will be improved in a bid to draw more visitors to experience tourism products in Hoa Binh lake./.
