The Standing Board of the Hoa Binh Women's Union issued Document No. 1990 on February 6, 2025, outlining activities for "Ao Dai Week" 2025, an annual initiative launched by the Presidium of the Vietnam Women's Union.

Women's Union members, in traditional ao dai, take part in a mass dance performance to celebrate "Ao Dai Week" 2024.

This event celebrates ao dai, Vietnam's traditional dress, while also commemorating key national milestones, including the 50th anniversary of the liberation of southern Vietnam, the 65th anniversary of the Dong Khoi Movement, the 60th anniversary of the "Three Responsibilities" Movement, the 115th anniversary of International Women’s Day (March 8, 1910 – 2025), and the 1,985th anniversary of the Hai Ba Trung Uprising.

Taking place from March 1 to 8, this year's "Ao Dai Week" will feature a variety of meaningful activities. The Standing Board of the Hoa Binh Women's Union is encouraging its members, along with civil servants and public employees, to wear ao dai to work throughout the week, with a coordinated effort for all participants to don the traditional dress on March 8.

Other activities include practicing and performing mass folk dances set to patriotic songs such as "Hello Ho Chi Minh City" and "Co Gai Sai Gon Di Tai Dan" (Saigonese Girls Carry Ammunition for the Liberation Force). Local Women's Union chapters have been urged to work closely with Party committees and governments to integrate folk dance performances into community events. Additionally, efforts will be made to promote "Ao Dai Week" and the mass folk dance performances across various media platforms. A province-wide folk dance performance and an ao dai parade are scheduled for March 5.

One of the key highlights of this year’s celebration will be a mass folk dance performance at Hoa Binh Square, featuring approximately 1,500 participants. Similar events will be organised in districts across the province, tailored to local conditions. To further promote the cultural significance of ao dai, the provincial Women's Union also encourages honourary male members to join in the festivities.

"Ao Dai Week" not only promotes the beauty of Vietnam’s traditional attire but also fosters national pride, unity, and the enduring spirit of Vietnamese women in modern society.
