(HBO) – Deputy Secretary of Hoa Binh province’s Party Committee and Chairman of the provincial People’s Committee Nguyen Van Quang, who is also head of the local traffic safety committee, on January 10 chaired a teleconference to review traffic safety work in 2018 and launch mission in 2019.

Last
year, 102 traffic accidents injured 79 people and killed 79 others in Hoa Binh
province. The number of accidents and injured victims were the same as recorded
in 2017, but the fatalities increased by one.
Major causes for the cases were violations of traffic rules, driving in the
wrong lane, speeding, drunk driving, and not wearing helmet.
Men were responsible for 97.06 percent of the traffic accidents in the year.
People, aging 27-55, caused the highest number of the accidents, accounting for
62 percent of the total. Meanwhile, car accidents made up more than 58 percent
of the total accidents.
On the province’s roads, local authorities detected and gave punishment to
13,723 cases of traffic rule violation, with a total fine of more than 11.1
billion VND. They seized 2,782 vehicles that broke traffic rules, and some
1,079 drivers had their licenses withdrawn.
Regarding waterway traffic, 49 cases were punished with total administrative
fine of 355 million VND.
In the Traffic Safety Year 2019 themed "Traffic safety for passengers and motorcycle
riders”, the province targeted to reduce the numbers of traffic accidents,
injured victims and fatalities by at least 5 percent. It will focus on
communication work to popularise traffic safety regulations and top causes of
traffic accidents at schools, rural and remote areas. Inspections will be
enhanced to curb traffic safety violations./.
In recent years, An Nghia commune, located in Lac Son district, has stepped up administrative reform, focusing on improving the quality and efficiency of its single-window service unit for receiving and processing administrative procedures. These improvements have helped create favourable conditions for local residents and organisations to handle administrative procedures, contributing to the commune’s broader socio-economic development.
The Prime Minister-approved master plan to develop the multi-use value of forests ecosystems through 2030, with a vision to 2050, aims to improve the management and sustainable use of forest resources, create jobs, increase incomes, and improve the living standards of ethnic minorities, people in mountainous and remote areas, forest workers and those living near forests.
