Local residents are renowned for their resilience, diligence, and loyalty to the Party and the revolution. Strategically located, Kim Boi served as a revolutionary base during wartime and hosted two provincial Party congresses in 1948 and 1951. Thousands of locals contributed to historic victories, including Dien Bien Phu and national reunification.

The district recorded 5,458 individuals with meritorious service to the revolution, including 22 Vietnamese Heroic Mothers, 640 fallen soldiers, and hundreds of wounded veterans and chemical warfare victims. A visit by President Ho Chi Minh in 1964 remains a powerful source of inspiration for generations.

According to Nguyen Hoang Thu, Secretary of the Kim Boi district Party Committee, Muong Dong holds strong potential for growth. In recent years, the district has focused on Party-building and administrative reforms, aiming for breakthroughs in key development areas. Efforts include improving the investment environment and advancing strategic projects in urban planning, tourism, and services.

A major inter-regional road project, scheduled for completion in 2026, is expected to boost competitiveness and attract new investment to the district.

A flagship initiative - the eco-urban complex featuring a recreational zone and cable car system in Kim Boi and Cuoi Ha communes is also progressing. With an investment exceeding 6.6 trillion VND (264 million USD) and covering 189 hectares, the project has overcome major hurdles thanks to the engagement of the entire political system.

Alongside this, numerous other development projects have been launched, reflecting the district’s growing momentum.

Once reliant on agriculture and forestry, Kim Boi is now emerging as a hub for eco-tourism and sustainable, market-oriented production. Around 60 tourism projects have been proposed, 15 of which have already been approved.

Local agriculture is shifting toward high quality, sustainable models, with several products achieving regional OCOP (One Commune One Product) recognition, including Son Thuy longans, Hop Tien honey, Kim Boi mineral water, and Muong Dong pomelos.

Administrative reforms are also accelerating to better support businesses and investors, contributing to improved living standards and a brighter future for local communities.
