(HBO) – Hoa Binh province had not recorded any COVID-19 infection cases as of March 22. However, the provincial steering board for COVID-19 prevention and control has still taken drastic actions in the face of the pandemic’s complex and unpredictable developments in the world and Vietnam.

Members of the steering boards for COVID-19 prevention and control of Hoa Binh province and Mai Chau district examine the preparations for quarantine at Mai Chau Ecolodge on March 17, 2020.

The provincial steering board ordered local media agencies, sectors, organisations and authorities to step up communications to provide the public with knowledge about preventive measures and organise disease prevention and control activities well.

In particular, it requested authorised forces to manage and monitor all suspected cases who have close contact with confirmed COVID-19 patients; seriously carry out check-up, quarantine and treatment for patients; and prevent cross infection for medical workers and other patients at healthcare establishments.

They were also asked to monitor people returning from coronavirus-hit countries and regions, make a list of people having close contact with those persons and needing quarantine, take samples for testing, and provide self-quarantine guidance.

At present, 171 people are currently kept in quarantine in Hoa Binh. They include two persons quarantined at the medical centres of Mai Chau and Lac Thuy districts, 42 at concentrated quarantine facilities, and 127 others at home./.
