(HBO) - In 2022, the income per capita of Yen Thuy district’s Hang Tram town reached 53.13 million VND ( 2,230 USD) and the poverty rate decreased by 2.28%. The result reflects the town's outstanding efforts in actively preventing and controlling the COVID-19 pandemic and developing socio-economic development.


Hang Tram town (Yen Thuy) strives to turn pomelo into an OCOP product in the second half of the 2020-2025 term.

Hang Tram town is in the centre of Yen Thuy district which is convenient for the production and circulation of goods as well as trade and service development. Therefore, the commercial sector industry is defined as the locality’s strength and accounts for a large proportion of its economic structure. The town currently has 27 enterprises, four cooperatives, and 679 business households.

After the COVID-19 pandemic was brought under control, business activities were resumed. Business establishments have invested in infrastructure building and equipment. Mini-supermarkets were formed and e-commerce thrived. Hang Tram Market was upgraded, creating favourable conditions for traders and residents. The commercial service sector has created jobs for more than 2,000 local workers. The
industry grew at an average annual rate of nearly 11%, accounting for nearly 50% of the town's economic proportion.

The town's construction industry was also developed. Currently, the locality has 22 enterprises, cooperatives and 210 households that are engaged in production and business in the field of industry and handicraft, generating jobs for nearly 1,000 workers. With an average annual growth rate of 24%, the sector makes an important contribution to local economic development. The People's Committee of Hang Tram town has directed locals to restructure crops and livestock and apply scientific and technical advances to production to improve production, output and quality. Especially, it has coordinated and created conditions for local residents to sign contracts with the Viet Dai Sugar Factory, Yen Thuy Safe Agriculture Cooperative, Ninh Binh Tapioca Starch Factory, and pumpkin seed products with the Tan Loc Phat Company, contributing to creating stable output for agricultural
products.

Implementing the OCOP programme, the town has successfully built two OCOP products. Of which, one product rated three stars and the other rated four stars. According to Doan Duc Toan, Secretary of the town's Party Committee said that great attention has been paid to party building work in the past half term. Political education has contributed to raising awareness, strengthening trust, promoting patriotic traditions, national pride and self-respect and creating solidarity, consensus and unity. Forty-one outstanding residents were sent to training courses for admission to the Party, and 32 new party.

Members were admitted in the period. Inspection and supervision are carried out regularly, ensuring fairness and accuracy. Four party members were reprimanded while 2 party members received warnings. The province’s Fatherland Front and mass organisations managed to fulfill their assigned tasks. In the second half of the term, the Party Committee of Hang Tram town will focus on carrying out concerted solutions to raise the income per capita to 62 million VND by 2025. The locality will have two more OCOP products, namely pomelo and ca gai leo (Solanum procumbens).  It also targets to complete the target of turning the town into a civilised urban standard by the end of 2024.
