As a bridge connecting Party Committee, the administration and the people, over the years, prestigious people in Hang Kia commune, Mai Chau district, have set good examples, actively contributing to building a strong political system while strengthening the great national solidarity and preventing crime and social evils in the locality.

Hang Kia is a poor commune of Mai Chau district, and also home
to H’Mong people. Local authorities have identified barriers in socio-economic
development and strongly implemented harmonious solutions, including promoting
the role of prestigious people in the locality.
The commune has five prestigious people who are village
elders, clan heads, and retired officials. They are pioneering forces, taking
the lead in implementing the Party and State’s policies while encouraging the
locals to gradually eliminate outdated customs, practices and focusing on
developing the economy.
To date, the average per capita incomeof the commune has
reached nearly 30 million VND (1,200 USD) a year, and the poverty rate has
decreased to about 30%.
Kha A Lau, Chairman of Hang Kia commune People's committee,
affirmed that the local prestigious people always promote their roles, serving
as the core force in patriotic emulation movements, mobilising the locals to
well implement the Party and the State’s guidelines, policies, and laws,
contributing to ensuring security and order in the area.
In the coming time, the local Party Committee and authorities
will strengthen coordination and promote the role of prestigious in all fields,
thereby contributing to building a transparent and strong political system,
helping the locality to reduce poverty sustainably, and promoting local
socio-economic development.
