Hoa Binh Power Company (PC Hoa Binh) is enhancing power supply reliability for customers by promoting the use of live-line maintenance technology, which allows repairs to be performed without power interruptions.

Workers of the PC Hoa Binh’s hotline repair team carry out maintenance on live power lines without cutting off electricity.

Dang Minh Tuan, head of the hotline repair team at PC Hoa Bình, said the team was established in September 2021 and has since completed thousands of safe maintenance tasks on power lines. Given the nature of their work, team members are carefully selected for their exceptional skill, physical fitness, mental resilience, and rule obedience. Equipped with state-of-the-art tools, the team ensures that all gear undergoes regular maintenance and testing in line with manufacturer standards.

Bui Ngoc Phuong, a team member, explained: "To ensure safety during our work, we conduct daily checks and practise safety procedures. We also prepare thoroughly, inspecting all safety equipment before starting any task”. In the past nine months, the team completed 472 maintenance sessions, achieving 87.4% of the target set by the Northern Power Corporation. This has resulted in reduced power outages for customers and improved reliability of power supply.

Ha Van Sang, a resident from Mai Chau district, praised the difference live-line maintenance makes, saying that previously, repairs and maintenance meant power would be out for half a day or more, which was disruptive for production and daily activities. Now, with this new method, the power stays on while the work is done, so locals are no longer worried about extended outages anymore.

Deputy Director of the PC Hoa Binh Nguyen The Hung highlighted the company’s recent efforts to improve service quality. "In recent years, various initiatives have been launched to better serve customers. Using live-line maintenance technology for connection, repair, and cleaning on energised lines is a key part of this. This not only represents a major step forward in adopting modern technology for safe and continuous power supply but also demonstrates its commitment to improving service quality".
