(HBO) – The first Da River fish and shrimp festival, the agricultural fair and exhibition of OCOP products of the northern midland and mountainous area in 2023 wrapped up on October 31.



 

Vice Chairman of the provincial People’s Committee Dinh Cong Su presents certificates of merit to organisations and individuals with great contributions to orgnising the festival and fair.


An array of fascinating activities was arranged during the six-day event, attracting the participation of more than 300,000 visitors from far and wide.

Thanks to meticulous preparation, social order, food safety and hygiene, traffic safety and fire prevention and control were ensured during the event.

In his speech at the closing ceremony, Vice Chairman of the provincial People’s Committee Dinh Cong Su said that the first Da River fish and shrimp festival, the agricultural fair and exhibition of OCOP products of the northern midland and mountainous area in 2023 came to a success.

The festival has created a lasting impression on the participants with a string of activities, including a fish worshipping ritual and flower-shaped lantern floating on the Da River, an exhibition of the Muong ethnic quintessence of traditional culture and cuisine, an exhibition of local specialties and OCOP products, an auction of staple fish, a fishing contest at Hoa Binh Lake, and an aquaculture forum.

It has made contributions to popularising local staples, and affirming Hoa Binh brand of Da River shrimp and fish which helps build them into an economic spearhead of Hoa Binh province.

On the occasion, the Chairman of the provincial People’s Committee presented certificates of merit to 10 organisations and 20 individuals, and the Director of the provincial Department of Agriculture and Rural Development presented certificates of merit to 20 organisations and 10 individuals with great contributions to the orgnisation of the festival and fair.
