(HBO) - Having a stable job, income and good conditions for taking care of family are the common desires of the women in the current period. With bravely researching and creating, the Bamboo and Rattan Cooperative of Ms. Bui Thi Sanh, Nhan Nghia commune (Lac Son) not only meets those aspirations but also contributes to "waking up” the traditional craft in this countryside - handmade rattan handicrafts.

Ms. Bui
Thi Sanh, Chairman of the Cooperative excitedly said: In the beginning of the
year, the cooperative received orders for more than 20 rattan trays for a
famous tourist destination in Hoa Binh. Officially founded in 2011, initially,
the model of Ms Sanh was a co-operative production and mainly hand-woven some
rattan such as rattan trays and rattan boxes. However, from 2017, with the support
of Lac Son Women's Union, it is upgraded from cooperative group to
Co-operative, they have taken into account the finished product lines and
directed to products with high artistic value. Sharing about this issue, Ms.
Sanh said: The establishment of production cooperatives helps us a lot, women
members are trained about knowledge and skills to improve their technical
skills. The board is supported about management, financial management skills,
especially, we can have an access to bigger capital, and we are linked to find
the output for the products.
At
present, the Cooperative attracts more than 500 members in the commune and many
women in surrounding communes. With an average income of 70,000 - 100,000 VND a
day, handmade rattan handicrafts have helped many households gradually
stabilize their life. Ms. Quach Thi Lan, Chairwoman of Nhan Nghia Women's
Union, said: "The advantage of this job is that we can take advantage of
our work at anytime, anywhere and easily taught. The most important thing is
the stable income; the income of a skilled person can reach from 2-3 million
per month. If the whole family together knit together, with other income such
as livestock, farming, the economy is also improved significantly.
From
the initial success of the Cooperative, the People's Committee of Lac Son
District has recently had a project to build a traditional bamboo and rattan
handicraft village in Nhan Nghia commune.
At HANOI JVC Training Center (Hanoi), the Farmers’s Support Center, the Provincial Farmers' Union and VTC1 International Development joint Stock Company recently held a signing ceremony for a cooperation agreement to link consulting and create the labor resources working abroad for a limited period of time.
In recent years, the education career in Yen Thuy district has changed positively. The school facilities have newly been built and the quality of education has improved.
The Board for Women's Advancement of Hoa Binh province on November 11 officially launched the Action Month for Gender Equality, focusing on preventing and addressing gender-based violence. As part of the event, a special talk was held on the theme of sharing household work for a happy family. The event drew 300 delegates, including Nguyen Van Toan, Standing Vice Chairman of the provincial People's Committee and head of the provincial Board for Women's Advancement.
