On the evening of November 16, the provincial authorities held a solemn ceremony at Hoa Binh City Square to receive the Certificate of National Special Relic Site for the archaeological site of Hang Xom Trai, Mai Da Lang Vanh and to open the 2024 Culture-Tourism Week of the province.


Member of the Party Central Committee and Deputy Prime Minister Le Thanh Long and Deputy Minister of Culture, Sports, and Tourism Ta Quang Dong present the National Special Relic Site certificate and offered congratulatory flowers to Hoa Binh province.

Prominent guests at the event included Deputy Prime Minister Le Thanh Long, officials from ministries and central agencies, international delegates, and representatives from other provinces and cities such as Bac Giang, Phu Tho, Thai Nguyen, Vinh Phuc, Lao Cai, Yen Bai, Son La, Ha Giang, Lai Chau, Dien Bien, Bac Kan, Tuyen Quang, Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City.

Speaking at the ceremony, Chairman of Hoa Binh provincial People's Committee Bui Van Khanh highlighted the province’s cultural richness as the cradle of the famed "Hoa Binh Culture." The region is home to over 100 recognised relics, traditional festivals, and ethnic diversity, offering significant tourism potential.

On the occasion, Deputy Prime Minister Le Thanh Long awarded the National Special Relic Site certificate to local officials, commending the province’s dedication to preserving cultural heritage while integrating sustainable tourism into economic development. He urged further promotion of the "Hoa Binh Culture" globally, with aspirations for UNESCO recognition.

The two special national relics of Mai Da Lang Vanh (the stone roof in Vanh village in Yen Phu commune) and Hang Xom Trai (Trai stone cave in Tan Lap commune in Lac Son district are typical representatives of the archaeological heritage in the locality, bearing historical and cultural values of the thousand-year Muong culture of Hoa Binh.

Secretary of the provincial Party Committee Nguyen Phi Long affirmed that as Hoa Binh sees culture as one of the five strategic breakthroughs for the province's development, the province will continue to effectively implement specific tasks and solutions to preserve the local relic sites in combination with tourism, forming tourism products associated with the Hoa Binh Culture to attract domestic and international scientists as well as visitors, so that the values of relic sites will be spread wide and far, contributing to the development of an advanced national culture imbued with national identity.

The Culture and Tourism Week of Hoa Binh is taking place from November 15 to 23, including the Fishing Prayer Ceremony, releasing flower lanterns on the Da River, and an art photo exhibition with the theme "The Beauty of Culture and Tourism of Hoa Binh province”.

A show of costumes of ethnic groups in Hoa Binh, a Can wine festival, an agricultural forum with the theme: "Agricultural promotion associated with agricultural tourism, green growth and sustainable development” and the second Da River Fish and Shrimp Festival in 2024, will also be held during the week.
