Hoa Binh youth leads in grassroots digital transformation

Amid the nationwide push for digital transformation, young people in Hoa Binh Province are stepping up as dynamic pioneers, applying technology to enhance Youth Union operations and expand the reach of youth-led initiatives. Through creativity and adaptability, Youth Union organizations at all levels have introduced a series of practical solutions, contributing to modern governance and community development.

Recognizing digital transformation as both a global trend and a practical necessity, the Hoa Binh Provincial Youth Union has actively promoted digital tools in its day-to-day activities. The adoption of member management software and the Vietnam Youth mobile application has improved how political training, ideological education, and community campaigns are conducted.

According to the Provincial Youth Union, over 80,000 young people in Hoa Binh have participated in digital skills training, more than 76,000 have accessed online public services, and a large majority now use digital payment platforms. Furthermore, all Youth Union officials and 80% of local youth have been engaged online with Party resolutions, state policies, and Union activities.

Nguyen Thanh Luan, Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Youth Union emphasized the strategic value of digital transformation: "It is not only inevitable but also a catalyst for innovation in Union work. Our goal is to make each Youth Union member a ‘digital nucleus’ within their community.”

Initiatives such as "Volunteer Days Supporting Online Public Services and E-Payments” have become a regular feature of Youth Union campaigns, helping local residents access digital tools more effectively. In collaboration with other departments, the Union has also offered training in e-commerce and digital marketing, particularly for OCOP products, and has expanded virtual career counseling and creativity competitions to reach youth in remote and mountainous areas.

One notable example of grassroots innovation is the Quyet Thang Commune Youth Union in Lac Son District. Despite limited digital infrastructure, local youth leaders have implemented a community-oriented digital plan, offering direct assistance at the commune’s administrative office, conducting extracurricular digital literacy classes in schools, and forming teams to support residents in managing QR codes and using online platforms. They have also leveraged social media to share educational videos on digital tools.

Bui Liem Thanh, Secretary of the Quyet Thang Commune Youth Union said: "Digital transformation in rural areas must reach every home and every person. We start with the smallest, most practical tasks like teaching residents to search for information on their phones. That’s how we build digital habits".

As a result, Quyet Thang has become one of the leading communes in the district in digital adoption. More households now use online services, and local students are better equipped to protect their digital identities and identify misinformation.

Other local branches have also developed creative, context-specific models such as the "Community Digital Technology Team” in Thai Binh Ward and the "4.0 Youth Union Chapter” at Lac Thuy A High School, reinforcing the decentralized but coordinated approach to digital progress.

In the future, Hoa Binh’s youth organizations aim to further accelerate digital transformation in 2025 by cultivating a core group of tech-savvy youth and fostering an inclusive digital environment, particularly in disadvantaged areas. With a spirit of innovation, discipline, and service, the province’s young people are not only adapting to change but also driving it from the grassroots up.

The Prime Minister-approved master plan to develop the multi-use value of forests ecosystems through 2030, with a vision to 2050, aims to improve the management and sustainable use of forest resources, create jobs, increase incomes, and improve the living standards of ethnic minorities, people in mountainous and remote areas, forest workers and those living near forests.

Hoa Binh holds digital transformation festival, launches digital literacy movement

On May 15, the Hoa Binh Steering Committee for Science, Technology, Innovation, and Digital Transformation launched the "Digital Literacy for All” movement.
