Member of the Party Central Committee and Secretary of the provincial Party Committee Bui Van Tinh has a working session with representatives of PHI Group Inc of the US to discuss their investment cooperation in Hoa Binh.

At the event, Secretary Bui Van Tinh gave an overview of local potential and advantages in agriculture and trade – tourism, which are also the fields PHI Group Inc plans to invest in.

A representative of the US business said they plan to invest in an agricultural project with major farms so as to develop clean agriculture. They also want to build an Asia-level trade and tourism centre which will be worth about 5 billion USD and include many facilities covering some 500ha of land.

The company said Hoa Binh boasts many geographical, climate, soil and cultural conditions suitable for the development of those fields, adding that it hopes the projects will receive support from the province’s leaders if they are approved.

PHI Group Inc also affirmed that if the firm is permitted to make investments in Hoa Binh, it will comply with the Vietnamese Government’s requirements and regulations and prioritise local people to employ.

Also at the working session, Secretary Bui Van Tinh welcomed foreign investors’ big investments in Hoa Binh, noting that their major projects will create an important turning point in the province’s socio-economic development and help provide jobs for local labourers.

A large advantage of the province is lake tourism as Hoa Binh has a number of favourable conditions for investors to carry out their projects, especially building tourism complexes. With the length of over 220km, Hoa Binh Lake contains more than 9 billion cu.m of water and features countless islets. Investment in this area will be highly feasible, promising to turn the lake into a magnet for domestic and foreign tourists./.
