(HBO) Tran Dang Ninh, Standing Vice Secretary of the Hoa Binh provincial Party Committee and Chairman of the provincial People's Council, has visited areas affected by landslides triggered by torrential rains in Hoa Binh City to gain insights into the situation and offer sympathy to affected residents.

Recent heavy rains resulted in landslides in many areas in ​​Hoa Binh City, significantly destroying the locals’ property. The first destination of the delegation led by Ninh was Group 26 in Dong Tien ward, where houses and land of 29 households collapsed into the Da River. The delegation then moved to the Suoi Sao area of Group 24, also in Dong Tien ward, which has high risks of landslides during heavy rains) and two major landslide sites in Thai Thinh commune.

 

According to preliminary statistics, 3 households and 2 production–business establishments in Thai Thinh commune had to make an emergency evacuation as their houses were damaged during landslide. Three other households along streams in the commune are facing a high risk of landslide. On the road section from Le Dai Hanh alley (belonging to Hamlet 1, Phuong Lam Ward) to Thau and Voi hamlets in Thai Thinh commune, there are eight landslide sites, causing traffic jams.

In each landslide site he visited, the Standing Vice Secretary of the provincial Party Committee spent time encouraging affected households. He said they need to trust the instruction of the party committee and local authorities. He warned them not to return to eroded areas. Ninh requested leaders of the Party Committee and People's Committee of Hoa Binh City to focus on helping residents move their belongings from damaged houses, arranging temporary shelters for these people, and fixing flood-damaged facilities to improve local living conditions and travel in affected areas.
