(HBO) - The editorial board of Hoa Binh Newspaper has held a conference for its news collaborators in 2018, with nearly 20 reporters attending the event.


Dinh Van On, Editor-in-Chief of Hoa Binh Newspaper delivered a speech at the conference.

In the past years, Hoa Binh Newspaper has received stories, photos and information from the collaborators, articles and photos, helping it accomplish its political tasks. Currently, the newspaper runs both print and online editions. The former is published six times per week, while the latter is available in three languages – Vietnamese, English, and Muong. The paper has about 200 regular news collaborators from Hoa Binh and other localities; the group is estimated to contribute between 30 and 40 percent of the total articles and photos published.

The Editorial Board highlighted the continuance of the partnership to improve the content of the newspaper.

At the conference, participating collaborators said the paper has been an important information channel for the province promote its history and culture, particularly Muong ethnic culture. 

They recommended the Editorial Board change the user interface of the online version for better reading and searching experience; cut the amount of articles with too many numbers in its special printed edition for Tet (New Year) holiday; and invest more in reportage and writings on local customs and traditions.

They also suggested sending prompt feedback and organising wrting courses for collaborators.

Taking into account these comments, the Editor-in-Chief said the board will work with the local post office to address slow delivery of newspapers as gifts, and with the Academy of Journalism and Communication to open training workshops for the group.
