(HBO) – The People’s Committees of Hoa Binh and Son La provinces held a meeting on February 10 to discuss construction of the Hoa Binh-Moc Chau expressway. Besides discussing field inspection as well as contents related to the project building, both sides agreed to set up a group assisting the project’s steering board, and its operation regulations.

Vice Chairman of the Hoa Binh province People’s Committee Bui Van Cuu speaks at the meeting.

Under the Prime Minister’s Decision No.579/QD-TTg dated May 17, 2019, the expressway will be built under a Public-Private Partnership (PPP) contract, with a length of 85 kilometres, including 49 kilometres in Hoa Binh province and 36 kilometres in Son La province’s Van Ho and Moc Chau districts.

The road will be built at a total cost of some 22.29 trillion VND (955 million USD), 900 billion VND of which is contributed by Hoa Binh province and 4.1 trillion VND by the neighbouring province.

Currently, the two localities are making meticulous preparation to ensure the smooth implementation of the project.

Construction of the expressway is in line with both provinces’ socio-economic development planning.

Field inspection is underway in Son La province on February 11-13, and in Hoa Binh province on February 10-13./.
