(HBO) – Over recent years, authorities of Hoa Binh province have paid special heed to creating jobs for and supporting women in starting their business, especially poor women and those in rural and ethnic minority areas. Local women have been facilitated to access capital, plant varieties and livestock, and scientific and technological advances to develop production, thus improving their incomes.
Lac Son Electronic Co., Ltd generates jobs for hundreds of local
labourers, mainly female workers.
Mrs. Bui Thi Nhan's family is a typical example of economic development from
planting fruit trees and livestock development in Bai Tam hamlet, Du Sang
commune (Kim Boi district).
Nhan said after learning techniques and making field trips to orchards, her
family planted 300 five-year citrus trees for five year, which bring an income
of 200 million VND per year. The family also planted 1,000 orange trees for
three years that start to bearfruitfor the first year, which are
expected to generate 200 million VND per year.
The family is also breading 100 commercial pigs, earning about 250 million VND
per year. The initial success from the cultivation and livestock model has
helped her family improve incomes, contributing to the locality’s
socio-economic development.
The women’s union of Du Sang commune has also paid attention to creating jobs
and supporting local women in starting business.
According to the provincial Women’s Union, six training courses on starting
business, and fiduciary loan service of the social policy bank and information
technology were held in 2022 for 206 people who are members the all-levels
women’s unions, and heads of loan groups.
As many as 14 collective economic models, including five cooperatives, four
cooperative groups, and five association groups, were established.
Establishments owned by women and households have been supported to introduce,
exhibit and sell their products at exhibitions, and the Postmart e-commerce
platform.
Entrusted loan activities with the Bank for Social Policies, the Bank for
Agriculture and Rural Development, Lien Viet Bank have been strengthened with a
total outstandingconcessionalloans of over 1.65 trillion VND,
benefiting 31,371 local residents.
Creating jobs for female labourers requires the participation of the entire
political system, people and businesses.
The locality needs to effectively use loans from the national fund for
employment and labour export, mobilise resources, and attract investment in
developing industrial zones and clusters, thus generating more jobs for local
labourers, especially female workers./.
