(HBO) - The Hoa Binh Department of Science and Technology, in collaboration with the provincial Department of Planning and Investment, the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union’s provincial chapter and the management board of Hoa Lac High-tech Park, organised a seminar entitled "Startup & Innovation in Hoa Binh province” in Hoa Binh city on July 26. The event was attended by Vice Chairman of the provincial People’s Committee Nguyen Van Dung and representatives from departments, agencies, local business association, tourism association and small and medium-enterprises association. It also saw the participation of more than 300 youth union members who are developing effective economic models or desire to establish startups.

At the event, participants had a dialogue with Vice Chairman Dung and Director of Hoa Lac High-tech Centre. They were provided with an overview of startup ecosystem and exchanged with successful foreign startups. The forum also gave an insight into training courses on innovative startups for youngsters.

According to the organising board, the seminar opened up opportunities for local businesses, youth union members and students to acquire basic knowledge on innovative startups as well as activities supporting the formation of startup ecosystem in Hoa Binh province.

Vice Chairman Nguyen Van Dung expressed his hope that the event helped change awareness of State management agencies, businesses and young people about startup.

It also served as a venue for provincial companies and youth union members with strong desire for startup to learn experience from international startup experts as well as pioneering startup enterprises, he added.

Dung also underlined specific policies and responsibilities of relevant departments and agencies to support innovative startup activities in the locality./.
